  • Distance between international terminal to domestic terminal

Hi, I am flying from Dubai to Honolulu, Hawaii but have a stop over at Seattle. My lands on 6:55 am at Seattle and my connecting flight is at 10am from the domestic to Honolulu. Is 3 hours sufficient for the transfer between the terminals?

Seattle only has one Terminal. If both flights are on the same reservation you have enough time. You will arrive in the S Satellite, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the underground trains to your departure gate.

  • South Satellite to B gates

I booked with Delta, they have given us an hour and 20 minutes to arrive from Victoria, BC (no pre-clearance) to fly to Atlanta. How rushed will we be? Do we have to send our luggage to the main terminal and recheck it and go through security or is that all done at the S Terminal and we just have to make our way to our gate after customs and immigration?

Everything will be don in the S Satellite where you arrive. Still, it's a difficult connection.

Does the train go directly to B gates from S Satellite? or is it a circle loop? I'm told its a "legal" connection, but pretty concerned with the time. We are flying comfort plus and will be at the front of our arriving flight, which should help a bit. The next flight is a red eye and I understand that we are not quarranteed comfort plus if we miss our connection.

It's a loop - it goes to A before B. Your flight to Atlanta could leave from S, A, or B.

    Thanks for your help

Hi, I'm flying to Ft. Lauderdale from Kelowna, BC with 90 minutes at Seatac. Is there enough time and do I have to physically transfer my luggage from one carousel to another? Which concourse is arrival and departure? TY

You will arrive in Concourse S, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the underground train to your departure gate in the C, D, or N concourse. You barely have enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Thank you, very helpful. Hope it does go smoothly.

Hi, I will be traveling with Emirates from Mumbai to Denver and there is 2 hours connecting time in Seattle for my flight to Denver. Do I need to carry my luggage and re-checkin, also is 2 hours enough for this process ?

If all tickets are on the same reservation you will be checked in through to Denver and just have to claim your bags to go through US Customs, then re-check them at the re-check desk right after, then go through security and to your departure gate. 2 Hours is just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • DBX-SEA_PORTLAND 1.5 hrs layover

DBX to SEA is on Emirates SEA to Portland is on Alaska Air (codeshare with Emirates) Both flights are on same ticket. 1. Will I need to collect bags at SEA, recheck the bags at Alaska Air counter & then go through security check to catch my SEA-Portland flight? 2. Is 1.5hrs enough time for the transfer? My DBX-SEA flight arrives at 7AM (0700 hrs) 3. Route/Transfer options from SouthSatellite (EMIRATES) to ALaska airlines. Thanks!

Yes, in Seattle you will arrive in the S satellite, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and take the underground train to the C, D, or N concourse where your flight to Portland will depart. You barely have enough time if everything goes smoothly, but Alaska flies flights to Portland every 30 minutes, so it's not a big deal if you miss your connection, you will be rebooked.

    Great. Thanks for the update.

  • Calgary to San Jose

Hi I am travelling from Calgary to San Jose with layover in Seattle for 45 Minutes. I am wondering if this is sufficient time to cross immigration. I will not have any checked baggage. Thanks

Also this is going to be a delta connection,

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time if your flight from Calgary is on-time.

  • US customs check between flights?

I am traveling from LAX to YVR with a 40-minute layover in Seattle. Can it be done? I know it'll be close regardless, but will I need to go through customs there? Is 40 minutes cutting it too close?

There is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

Did you make it? I have a 35 min layover to go to Victoria BC. Thx

I decided to book a different flight with an hour wait time to be sure.

International flight from Narita, Japan to MCI(Kansas City). Is a 1hr 24min layover enough time to catch our connecting flight from Delta to Alaska Airlines, to reach our destination in Kansas City- MCI?

No, that is not enough time for an international to domestic connection in Seattle.

  • From Victoria to Los Angeles via Seattle, 1.30 hour enough?

Hello, I am thinking of buying a ticket from Victoria to Los Angeles via Seattle with Delta Air Lines (one reservation). the layover time is one and a half hour. I would like to know if it is enough for immigration and moving to boarding gate? Thanks in advance!

It's just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • 37 minute layover enough to connect from Pasco > Seattle > LAX?

Hi! First I'd like to say that this is my first time flying. My family and I are planning to go on a trip to Mexico and we're going from Pasco, WA to Seattle then to LAX. the layover time in Seattle is 30 minutes, is that enough for first time flyers? Thank you in advance!

It's enough time but it leaves no time to spare if the flight from Pasco is delayed. You will have to hurry.

  • Domestic to International departure

Hello All, I have my parents traveling from San Francisco to Dubai via Seattle. They have a layover of 1 hr 20 mins in Seattle. My question is whether their bags will be checked in directly at SFO and clear security, requiring only gate change at Seattle, or will they need to go through check in and security again at Seattle like at Chicago. Thanks in advance for the response!

Addn info: The tickets were booked as one reservation through Emirates, but the domestic flight from SFO to SEA is operated by Alaskan Airlines.

Since they purchased one reservation then their bags will be checked through and they don't have to go through security again. All they have to do is go from their arrival gate in the C, D, or N concourse to their departure gate in the S Concourse using the underground train. They may also have to have their boarding passes reissued at the Emirates gate.

traveling from lahore via emirates airline. dubai to seattle via emirates . seattle to edmonton by alaskan airlines. i am with a four year child . i have 2:50 hour in seattle. i have two baggage. is this enough good time for clear immigration and claim my baggage or how all this will work?

Yes, that should be enough time. In Seattle you will arrive in the S Satellite, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security, and then take the underground train to your departure gate in the C, D, or N concourse. Note that if you are Pakistani citizens you will need a US Transit Visa to make this connection

Hi, I have a flight from LAS to YYJ with a 47 minute connection in SEA, all with delta airlines. Do you think this is enough time? Will I need to recheck my luggage, and do I clear Canadian customs in Victoria?

You clear Canadian Immigration and Customs in Victoria. You have enough time as long as your flight from Las Vegas is on-time.

I am transferring from international arrival flight by Delta to domestic flight by Alaska Airline in 1.5 hours will that be enough time to clear immigration, custom and boarding the domestic flight? Are they in 2 different terminals?

If both tickets are on the same reservation that is barely enough time If it's two separate reservation that's not enough time. Seattle only has one terminal.
