  • transferring UA to Icelandic
    Jan 28, 2016
How much transfer time should I allow for transferirng to and from Icelandic at SEA? I have a choice of booking UA or Alaska. Which would be easier and faster?

Either airline will be the same since you will have to go to the main terminal to claim and re-check your bags. I recommend at least 3 hours if you have checked bags. It can be done in 2 hours without checked bags.

  • Is 1.2 hours enough time to trans flights?
    Feb 1, 2016
I have to change flights at SeaTac, from Jet blue to Alaska air, and they won't transfer my luggage. So I will have to wait at the luggage arrival and then go thru the security again to access the Alaska gate. What a mess.

No, that isn't realistically enough time. You should have researched this BEFORE buying tickets. Either that or pack everything into a carry-on.

I am flying from Iceland to Seattle (on icelandair) and then Seattle to PHX (on Alaska). I was originally supposed to have 3 hours in Seattle but Alaska changed my flight. Is an hour and 20 minutes enough time without checked bags to make it to my flight to phx?

Without checked bags it might be possible as long as you already have your Alaska boarding pass, but it's pushing it.

They were all purchased on the same itinerary through Icelandair. I did get my separate confirmation code for Alaska though. Do you know if time of day makes a difference?

I will be flying into Seattle from Calgary on Alaskan Airlines with 1 hour and 10 min to connect to Asiana to Korea. Are the terminals fairly close?

seattle only has one Terminal. You pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary. In Seattle you will arrive in concourse C, D, or N and depart from Concourse S. You will have to take an underground train to S but it is all inside security. You have enough time.

    Thanks ZAP.

I am travelling Delta Airlines from Calgary Alberta to Seattle then connecting to San Diego. I am flying Delta for all flights. Will I need to change terminals in Seattle? Is 1 hour enough time?

Seattle only has one Terminal. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Delta uses gates in both concourse A and S. You should have enough time.

  • Concourse C to South Satelite
    Jan 24, 2016
I will be arriving at Concourse C from Alaska Airlines and have to reach South Satellite to depart from Emirates. I have a layover of 1hr 45 mins. Is this time enough? Two more questions. Will it be a thru checkin and I will not pick my luggage again. Last..Do I need to go through security as I might not go out of airport. Thanks !!!

No need to ask the same question twice.

  • 1.5 hour layover - enough time?
    Jan 23, 2016
I have 1.5 hour layover that I need to through US Immigration, claim bags, go through US Customs, re-check their bags at the re-check desk and then go through security and to their departure gate?? Is this enough time?

That's just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Thank you so much. Do they have to take the rail / train within the airport to go from international terminal or domestic terminal?

Seattle only has one terminal, If your departing flight is on Delta then you probably won't have to take the train to another concourse. If it is not on Delta then you will.

  • Bangkok - Tokyo - Seattle - Denver
    Jan 23, 2016
My parents who are pretty old are traveling by themselves to visit me in Denver. 1) Does anyone know if they need to get their luggage in Seattle and re-check? 2) When arriving in Seattle from Tokyo, do they have to go to another terminal to catch a domestic flight? Thanks

When they arrive in Seattle they will arrive in the S Satellite, go through US Immigration, claim their bags, go through US Customs, re-check their bags at the re-check desk and then go through security and to their departure gate. Seattle only has one terminal but a number of concourses. Their departure concourse depends on what airline they are flying to Denver.

Thank you so much. They only have 1.5 hour layover. Do you think that's enough time or too short?

That's barely enough time if everything goes smoothly.

We're flying from BIO (Spain) to Amsterdam with KLM where we connect to our flight on DELTA arriving at Seattleat 14:03.Then our Alaskan Airlines flight departs at 17:15 to Anchorage. Is it enough a layover of 3HR 12MIN in Seatle? Will we be given our boarding passes to Anchorage in Bilbao (BIO)?

Yes, that should be enough time. Yes, KLM should be able to issue all your boarding passes in Bilbao. If for some reason they are not you will be able to get it at the transfer desk in Seattle.

  • Kelowna - Seattle - LAX

Hi, I am flying from Kelowna - Seattle - LAX. I have 1 hour and 30 minutes between arriving in SEA and the depature to LAX. Understand I will have to clear immigration, customs, collect and re-check my luggage. Is this enough time? This was booked by a travel agent.

Yes, you have the procedure correct. That is barely enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Yes, that should be enough time if the first flight is on-time. You just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

  • Flight with Virgin into SEA for connect to SAN DIEGO -
    Jan 17, 2016
Hi I'm flying to SAN DIEGO from London Heathrow with stop to change planes in SEA, both planes are Virgin run and at the same terminal for land and departure - will I go straight from Gate to Gate OR need to go through customs and back out again ? I only have an hour between flights. Thanks Kev

Both flights will be operated by Delta. In Seattle you will arrive, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US customs, re-check your bags at the recheck desk then go through security and to your departure gate.

  • PHX - SEA - LHR
    Jan 16, 2016
Hi, I have a reservation with Alaska Airlines arriving in SEA at 17.35 connecting to British Airways at 19.10. As a code share will checked in bags be automatically transferred between flights?

Yes, you won't have to do anything with your bags in Seattle, just go from your arrival gate in C, D, or N to your departure gate in S.

  • 40 min enough time from SEA to Vancouver?
    Jan 15, 2016
Flying from Atlanta to Seattle and only have 40 min layover on Delta to Vancouver? Will that work? Operated by Delta and Delta conncection

It's possible but doesn't leave any time to spare if the flight from Atlanta is delayed.

  • transfer between north and south satellite at sea tac airport
    Jan 15, 2016

You will have to go to the main terminal to recheck your bags with United. Then go through security. United does not use the N concourse, they use concourse A.
