  • Phoenix - San Jose- Seattle- Shanghai

Hi I have a flight from Phoenix to San Jose with no plane change and then to Seattle and arrive at 9:40am. My flight to Shanghai from Seattle is at 11am. Is 80 minutes connection time enough? With the new years coming up is the airport extra busy? Thanks

If both tickets are on the same reservation then that is enough time. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. All gates are connected inside security.

HI, I am traveling from Edmonton, Canada to San Francisco with a layover in Seattle for 55 mins. I think I will be going through customs in Edmonton. Is this enough time? Do I have to grab my bag when I get to Seattle? Thanks!

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Edmonton. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, nothing with your bags as long as all tickets are on the same reservation.

  • Delta airlines connecting flight
    Dec 21, 2015
Hi there, am Travelling back from Las vegas to Edmonton(Canada) via seatle where I have a 36 min layover..will this time be enough for the connecting flights where both the flights are operated by delta airlines

That should be just enough time if your first flight is on-time.

Hi there, I am travelling from SFO to SEA and then SEA to YYJ (Victoria, Canada). I have a 45 min layover between my two flights and I am flying with Alaska Airlines for both. Will 45 min be enough time to make my connection flight?

No need to post the same question twice.

You will most likely have time, but your gonna have to book it. The only big thing I would be worried about is if your flight before that gets delayed, that could be problematic

  • PDX - SEA, then SEA to Frankfurt
    Dec 13, 2015
Hello, I am traveling form PDX to SEA on Alaska airline and then will take Lufthansa from SEA to Frankfurt. I have a 45 mins layover (connection time). I want to know whether it is enough for me to catch the Lufthansa flight. Also, is it enough connection time for my checked luggage to be transferred. Thanks

Sorry the layover time is 1h06mins

We're all your tickets purchased on the same reservation or were they purchased separately?

They were purchased together on the same reservation.

Then your bags will be transferred and all you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate via the underground train. You should have enough time.

Hi, going from London Heathrow to Vancouver with a change at Seattle for 1hour15mins (assuming flights are on time). British Citizen with valid American Visa. Both flights on same itinerary. Can I make the connecting flight within the hour?

Unless your flight from London is quite early you won't make it. The Minimum International to International connection time at SEA is 90 minutes. If you are flying Alaska to Vancouver there are almost hourly flights from Seattle to Vancouver. Contact your airline or travel agent to be rebooked on a later flight to Vancouver. You will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate at the other side of the airport.

Thanks a lot. Will ring them up and talk to them

  • Dubai - Portland, connection in Seattle
    Dec 11, 2015
Dear all, I have an Emirates flight Dubai to Seattle and Seattle to Portland by Alaskan Airlines. In Seattle I have a connection of 1h25. Is it enough time to make it to the Portland flight given I have to go through customs? Thank you very much in advance!

The minimum international to domestic connection time at Seattle is 90 minutes. There are hourly Alaska Airlines flights from Seattle to Portland. Contact your travel agent or whoever you booked the tickets through to be put on a later flight to Portland.

I am arriving SEA by Delta airlines and need to take Delta again to Alaska. In what concourse will I arrive and can you also guide me how can I make it to s satellite ? Thank you

Delta uses both the A an S satellite. They are connected inside security by an underground train.

  • Going through Concourse C to South Satellite within secured area
    Dec 4, 2015
Will Alaska airline flight # 2250 land in Concourse C on Saturday? If so, can you give me directions to reach South Satellite station within your secured area? Thanks in advance!

All gates in Seattle are connected inside the secure area. You will walk to the B Concourse and then board a train to the S Satellite. Just follow the signs pointing to the S Satellite.

  • International departure
    Dec 3, 2015
I am arriving SEA by Alaska airline and need to take Delta to Shanghai. What Concourse do I go for the connection flight? Do I use South station for international departure, or is it just for arrival?

Yes, Delta International flights depart from the S Satellite.

  • Transfer from Alaska airline to international flight with Delta airlin
    Dec 3, 2015
I need to take Alaska flight #2250 to SEA and get on Delta flight #589. Do I need to re-check in through TSA? Can you guide me to make the fastest terminal connection within 90 minutes assuming my first leg will be on time?

If both flights are purchased on the same reservation then you just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will arrive in C, D, or N and depart from S. S is connected to A and B by an underground train and A and B are directly connected to C and D. Just follow the signs. You have enough time, again if the tickets are on the same reservation. If they are two separate itineraries this is not enough time.

  • Route DAC-DXB-SEA-YEG, customs/immigration/baggage and connection?
    Dec 2, 2015
Our return route is Route DAC-DXB-SEA-YEG. DAC (Bangladesh is not a US pre clearance airport). After we land at SEA do we go through immigration first then collect our baggage then customs then re-check luggage again, go through security again? Or we can remain on the airside and go to the departure gate of Alaska Air (from SEA to YEG)? Tickets on same reservation of Emirates and baggage should checked in all through to YEG. Thank you.

In Seattle you will arrive in the S Satellite, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate, which will be in the C, D or N concourse. You will need a US Transit visa for this trip if you are a Bangladeshi citizen, however, you mention "return route" so you may be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, in which case you won't need a visa.

Thank you for your detailed and prompt response ZAP. This is very helpful. Yes, Canadian citizen.

  • YEG-SEA-DXB, Edmonton int. airport-preclearance airport?
    Dec 1, 2015
Edmonton International Aiport (YEG) is a US pre clearance airport. If we are flying this route YEG-SEA-DXB, and go through the US customs/immigration procedure at the YEG and our baggages are tagged to final destination than do we need to go through US border customs/immigration again after landing at SEA and collect our baggages before catching the connecting flight? Thank you.

All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate in the C, D, or N concourse to your departure gate in the S Concourse.

Thanks again for the clarification ZAP. Appreciate your help!

  • YEG-SEA-DXB, connecting flights procedure?
    Dec 1, 2015
Hi, We will be flying from Edmonton YEG to SEA by Alaska Airlines then connect to Emirates for DXB (reservations on same ticket). I have learnt from this forum that after landing at SEA at the concourse (C or D) we cross immigration/customes/security then collect our baggage. If baggages are tagged all through to DXB, than for re-check do we keep the luggage along with us on the train to South Satellite? Is there a direct train from concourse C or D to South Satellite? or we have to change trains couple of times? I assume that we again go through security at South Satellite before going to the departure gate? Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences and guidance here.

See my above answer regarding immigration. The train to South Satellite leaves from A and B. You walk to B to board the train from C or D. You don't have to go through security.

Thank you for the information ZAP.
