  • tight connection

Will 62 minutes be adequate to arrive via Seoul Incheon and make a connection to Denver. Both flights on Delta and booked on same ticket.

No, that's totally inadequate. The minimum International to Domestic connection time is 90 minutes.

Thanks Zap. I was thinking the same. Why would Delta book that flight knowing that it's too tight of a connection? I've made similar connections in Minneapolis but Seattle sounds a bit more involved.

I don't know why they would sell it.

  • N gates to C gates

How long will it take us to get from the N gates to the C gates if we're moving quickly (but we're nowhere close to being Olympians)? I believe we have to take the train?

Yes, you have to take a train. It should take less than 15 minutes.

Hi I'll be flying from Frankfrut with LH490 and need to change plane to UA1499. I understand that first I have to go through imigration check , then collect my luggae , then check it once again and then trying to find my gate ? thanks

    Yes, that is correct.

how much time does it usually take ? I have 3hours till my plane to SFO

That should be plenty of time.

How long should it take to get from Terminal D to Satellite S? Also, will i have to get my luggage or can they check it all the way to London?

D and S are just concourses, not separate terminals. As long as your tickets were purchased on the same reservation your bags will be checked straight through to London. It would take about 15-20 minutes to get from D to S.

  • Domestic flight short layover time
    Oct 25, 2015
Hello, I am flying in early December, a Skywest DBA Delta Connections flight to a regular Delta flight with a layover of 35 minutes. Is this do-able? Will my checked baggage likely make the transition in time or should I notify someone of my short layover? And will this connection happen in the south satellite terminal of seatac? Thank you!

It's possible if your first flight is on-time. Delta/Delta connection use gates in S and A in Seattle.

  • connection time

I purchase seperate tickets on Delta from Montana to Seatac then on to Honolulu on Hawaiian Airlines. I had a one hour connect time on the return trip from Honolulu to the Delta flight. Hawaiian Air has changed the schedule leaving me with a 20 minute connection. Will I make it?

On the way to Hawaii it's possible if you don't have checked baggage and check in online for your Hawaiian flight. On the way back it's impossible. If you plan on checking baggage it's impossible both ways.

Pls can someone advise if arriving by Emirates Airline into Seattle to connect to Vancouver, BC... would Alaskan Airlines or Air Canada be easier to connect to given layout of the terminals/concourses. Pls consider this will be on separate tickets and so pls advise on the Immigration and Customs, baggage claim & check in to BC. Thanks, ED

You will need at least 3 hours between your flights. Alaska and Air Canada will be equal based on the terminal layout.

Thanks a lot ZAP! God bless.

Wondering if one hr 30 minutes is enough time in seattle to change from horizon to emirates air. All on one ticket. Do i go through secuirity again? lugage rechecked? Thanks for the response

That should be enough time. You won't have to do anything with your luggage or go through security. You just have to go to the S satellite for your departure gate.

  • do I have to claim baggage
    Oct 18, 2015
So here is the situation. I am a canadian citizen. I will be traveling with Victoria, Canada to Doha Qatar with a layover in Seattle. I will travel to seattle on Alaska Airlines (international flight) and then from Seattle to Doha on Emirates (another international flight). Both these flights are on 1 ticket. My question is, will I have to claim my baggage at seattle and go through customs as well as immigration? Thanks

Yes, you will have to claim your baggage, go through US Customs, then re-check your baggage at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate which will also be in the S Satellite.

Hi ZAP, Thanks for your reply. I called both Emirates and Alaska Air and they gave me conflicting information. Alaska Air says I will have to reclaim baggage but Emirates says that since all flights are on 1 ticket, I will not have to claim baggage in US. I also noticed that on page 2 of this specific forum, you answered a question By Jin (Flying from EWR (Newark) to ICN (Seoul-Incheon)) and in that answer you indicated that he will not have to go through ccustoms and will need to go from arrival gate to departure gate. How can that be if everyone must go through Immigration and customs who is coming from international flight and going to international flight Thanks

Emirates is wrong. Jin was not coming from an international flight going to an international flight as both newark and seattle are in the United states.

  • DUBAI --> SEATTLE --> Victoria (Canada)
    Jan 11, 2015
I am flying from Dubai to Seattle on a 14 hour Emirates flight. The flight arrives in Satellite S. My next flight to Victoria, Canada is from concourse C. The layover time is 1h 25 minutes. I have 2 questions: 1) Would I have to go through any customs? or immigration at Seattle airport? I am only going to be in transit. 2) Is 1 hour 25 minutes layover enough to catch the Victoria, Canada connection? I do have another option where Victoria connection is 6 hours 40 minutes later. I could take that one. I am also traveling with a 4 year old so I will have a stroller. Is it true that to go to S to C, I have to take the train 4 times? How long will that take and is it easy with 4 year old? Your thoughts? Thanks

Yes, you have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-cehck your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and then take the underground train to concourse C. You have to take two trains. It will be difficult to make it in 1 hr 20 mins.

  • LHR-SEA on Delta then SEA-PDX on Alaska
    Jan 10, 2015
I have a 4 hr layover once I land in SEA coming from LHR on Delta landing at 3:15. I want to purchase a flight on Alaska that leaves at 5:00 so I don't have to wait for my delta connection at 7pm. How hard is it to go through customs and pick up my luggage and go re check in with Alaska and go back through security.

4 hours should be enough time to do that. Upon clearing customs you'll want to follow the signs for passengers ending their journey in Seattle instead of the one for connections.

  • Enough time????
    Jan 7, 2015
I am USA citizen and I'm flying Edmonton-Seattle then I have only 30 minutes to my next flight Seattle-Spokane. Do I have to collet my bag and re check in and go threw security again? It's all alaska airlines. I'm worried. Do I need to find a later flight to Spokane ?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Edmonton. In Seattle all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Your connection time leaves very little to spare in case of delays, but Alaska has hourly Seattle-Spokane flights and you can be rebooked on the next one if you miss your connection.

    Jan 6, 2015
Arriving at S gate at 4:22pm -- leaving from D gate at 5:50pm. Will this be enough time to make the connection? Also, we're travelling with two preschoolers so will have a stroller to contend with!

That should be enough time, but it doesn't leave a lot of time to spare in case of delays.

  • Layover time is enough?
    Jan 5, 2015
I have plan to visit my south korea, ICN. First, I will go to seattle from atlanta. and then i transfer the airplane to south korea. Two airplanes are all delta and I purchased these tickets together. But the layover time is only 51min. This time is enough to transfer the flight?

Yes, that should be enough time if your first flight is on-time. All you have to do in Seattle on your way to Korea is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, which should both be in the S Satellite.

I will be arriving SEA at 7.50am my conx flt depart at 9.05am will there be sufficient time to transit?

1 hr 15 minutes is really pushing it for an international->domestic connection.

Will the Q for immigration be bad for 7.50am arrival

It probably won't be too bad. However, it still is cutting it very close.
