If I will arrive on delta from jfk and connect o to vancouver how long os the walk and will I make the 45 min to 1 hr connecting flight .will I have to take a train to my connecting flight

If both of your flights are on Delta (not Alaska Airlines codeshare) then they will both be in the S Satellite and you won't have to take the train. You should have enough time.

What happens if its alaska codeshare

If it's alaska codeshare you will have to take the train to the main terminal and possibly another train to the N Satellite.

Hello im planning to fly in september from jfk to vancouver thru seatle do you think I could make the flight if my connwcting time is 45 minutes to an hr if the flight arrives earlier from jfk based on previous entries u have to recheck your bag again meaning the line will be long like the one when u first come into the airport

You will not have to claim and re-check your bag in on your way to vancouver. You will go through Canadian immigration when you get to Vancouver.

Hi, Im flying in with Delta from Geneva and will be flying onto Anchorage. I am a bit concerned about the time it will take to get through security/immigration for my connecting flight DL2436. It looks like i have only 1hr 4mins until it departs. Is this possible? Any helpful suggestions or advice would be appreciated. Thank you

That will be very difficult, almost impossible to make that connection unless your flight from Europe arrives very early (no airline flies non-stop from Geneva to Seattle). Even though both flights will be in the S-Satellite

Thank you for your quick reply. I forgot to mention the flight does go via Amsterdam. I booked this flight with Delta and this is the itinerary they gave me. If its impossible to get the connection in time what would be my position? Do I get put on the next available flight to Anchorage? I have contacted Delta, but as yet no response. I wonder why they give you an impossible transit time?

Yes, they'd book you on the next available flight to Anchorage. If you do miss your connection and what they offer you isn't satisfactory, push for them to book you on Alaska Airlines to Anchorage (who has many more flights).

Thank you again for your reply. Ive now spoken to Delta and although they admit it will be tight doing that transit in 1hr 4 min. If I want to change the flight now to a later one I will have to pay. They advise sticking to what I have and if I miss the connecting flight I will be put on the next one at no extra cost. I was hoping they would be a little more flexible and pre-empt the problem by making the change now :-)

I have a Delta flight from Phoenix to Seattle then connecting to Seoul Korea my layover is 1hr 20 minutes. Is that enough time to transfer my luggage and for us to board the plane to Korea?

Both Delta & Korean airlines use Satellite South, which has gates S1-S16. If you bought both flights on one ticket, your bags will automatically be transferred. You have enough time.

I arrive in Seattle on Delta Flight 1929 at 12:12pm and I have a connecting Delta Flight 589 to Shanghai at 12:50. Is 38 minutes enough time for the connection? (Flight day is Sat, Feb 22nd)

Yes, it should be if your first flight is on-time. All Delta flights in SEA operate in the S Satellite concourse.

Please Help Me. I arrive on Delta from Korea and depart on Delta for LA, can you give me directions upon reaching the airport. This is my first to be at this aiport. I have 1:14 to change plane, will that be enough? THANK YOU SO MUCH for your help.

You will arrive in the S-Satellite where you will go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, go through US customs, and re-check your baggage, then go through security and up to the departure gate level (your flight to LA will also be in the S-Satellite if it is operated by Delta and is not an Alaska Airlines codeshare flight).

My parent will arrive on Delta(S Gates) and connect to DL 9190. DL 9190 is operated by Alaska air as AS 672. Alaska Air uses C Gates, D Gates and N Gates. Which gates should they go? Delta's Gates (S Gates), or Alaska's Gates(C Gates, D Gates, N Gates)? Thank you.

From your previous post it appears your parent will go through immigration in the facility in the S-gates, then claim bags, go through customs, re-check bags, and go through security. Then he or she can take the train to the main terminal and then go to the C, D, or N gates where his or her Alaska Airlines flight will depart. It's more likely 632 will depart from C or N than D.

It is so helpful to read the information you provided. I appreciate your time and effort.

  • United to Alaska connection

We are arriving from CA on United(Concourse A, I think) and need to connect to Alaska going to Fairbanks. I see that Alaska uses concourses C, D, and the north satellite. What is the easiest way to get to each of these concourses? Which TSA precheck gate would we use? How much time should allow for check in? We will have carryons only. Thanks.

All gates at SEA are connected beyond security. Since you don't have checked baggage you can just walk from A to your departure gate if it's C or D or walk and take the train if it's from the N satellite. Just check-in online with Alaska before you leave CA and you won't have to worry about checking in in Seattle.

Due to a schedule change for the UA connection, the time is now 80 minutes from LH arr to UA dep for a Saturday flight in April. I will have checked baggage. I see that several flights from Asia could be arriving in the same time period, so my gut tells me that this may be cutting it too close, but haven't ever done Intl to Dom in SEA, so am wondering what the experts think. BTW, the iFly page on SEA still shows UA as being in North, even though they moved to Concourse A a number of months ago. Thanks.

Yeah, it's cutting it a bit close, but if you're a US resident the immigration lines are a lot shorter (per some reports I've read). Saturday is generally the lightest day too.

Arriving Sea at 9:15, Departing Hawaiian at 10, Concourse C to South Satellite. Can I make the flight?

Will you have bags? Will they be checked through? You can make it if you have all your boarding passes ahead of time and your first flight is on-time and you hurry. But realize that if there's any delay you're going to be stuck in Seattle overnight.

Please Help Me. I arrive on UNIITED from IAD and depart on Asiana Flight for Seoul, Korea, can you give me directions upon reaching the airport. This is my first to be at this aiport. I have 1:42 to change plane, will that be enough and do I have go through security check? THANK YOU SO MUCH for your help.

You will not have to go through security, all gates at SEA are connected beyond security. Your United flight will arrive in concourse A and you can take the train from there to the S Satellite. You should have enough time.

  • Connecting from IcelandAir to Alaska tonight -- 1:50 enough time?

My flight from iceland arrives at 4:40pm and I booked a flight with Alaska to PDX at 6:30. Is that enough time to clear customs, transfer to the right terminal and go through security again? I'm not checking any baggage.

Yes, that should be enough time, especially without checked bags.

Thank you. I just made it through everything in about 20 minutes. Good thing I hold a USA passport - the lines for foreigners were out of control!

  • Time needed for internationl check-in

We will arrive via Alaska Airlines at 1:40PM on a Tuesday. We will need to collect our checked luggage and then check in for Icelandair for a flight that leaves at 4:30 PM for LHR. Is 2 hrs, 50 mins enough time to allow for this? Tickets for both airlines will be purchased separately so don't think that we can send luggage all the way through. Thanks for any feedback.

Yes, if your first flight is on-time that should be plenty of time.

  • Connecting from SW to AC

Hi there, Do you know how much time would it take to connect between a flight arriving from ABQ on Southwest and a flight departing to Vancouver on Air Canada? I am not clear what gate/concourse those flights are at and wondering if I could make the connection with just an hour between flights.

If you have checked baggage I would allow 2 hours since you will have to claim your bags and re-check. Otherwise it could be done in 45 minutes as long as you are able to check-in for your Air Canada flight ahead of time online. You will arrive in concourse B and depart from Concourse A, which are connected beyond security.

  • Connecting time AMS-SEA-JNU
    Nov 18, 2013

What is the recommended connecting time for international passengers flying Delta & Alaska from AMS-SEA-JNU? Can we make it in 1.20 hours? we will have to go through immigration & customs.

That should be cutting it close. You will go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, re-check your baggage, and go through security in the south satellite. You will then go to your alaska airlines gate which could be in the C or D or N concourse via the underground trains. Follow the signs to your departure gate. Here is SEA's writeup on the procedure - http://www.portseattle.org/sea-tac/passenger-services/pages/international-travel.aspx

    1. International passengers arrive at the South Satellite (whether changing planes or ending their trip at Sea-Tac) and then go through immigration clearance, pick up checked luggage, continue to customs (taking 30-60 minutes). For transfer to a domestic flight recheck-in your bags, go through TSA security screening & proceed to your connecting flight. 2. Alaska Airlines uses Satellite North (N gates), as well as Concourses C & D (C & D gates) of the Main Terminal. As transfers between them are very different, I suggest you open www.ifly.com/sea then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text. Your time could be very tight, depending on which connection you have to take.
