  • Time needed for internationl check-in
    Dec 15, 2013
We will arrive via Alaska Airlines at 1:40PM on a Tuesday. We will need to collect our checked luggage and then check in for Icelandair for a flight that leaves at 4:30 PM for LHR. Is 2 hrs, 50 mins enough time to allow for this? Tickets for both airlines will be purchased separately so don't think that we can send luggage all the way through. Thanks for any feedback.

Yes, if your first flight is on-time that should be plenty of time.

  • Connecting from SW to AC
    Dec 4, 2013
Hi there, Do you know how much time would it take to connect between a flight arriving from ABQ on Southwest and a flight departing to Vancouver on Air Canada? I am not clear what gate/concourse those flights are at and wondering if I could make the connection with just an hour between flights.

If you have checked baggage I would allow 2 hours since you will have to claim your bags and re-check. Otherwise it could be done in 45 minutes as long as you are able to check-in for your Air Canada flight ahead of time online. You will arrive in concourse B and depart from Concourse A, which are connected beyond security.

  • Connecting time AMS-SEA-JNU
    Nov 18, 2013
What is the recommended connecting time for international passengers flying Delta & Alaska from AMS-SEA-JNU? Can we make it in 1.20 hours? we will have to go through immigration & customs.

That should be cutting it close. You will go through US Immigration, claim your baggage, re-check your baggage, and go through security in the south satellite. You will then go to your alaska airlines gate which could be in the C or D or N concourse via the underground trains. Follow the signs to your departure gate. Here is SEA's writeup on the procedure -

    1. International passengers arrive at the South Satellite (whether changing planes or ending their trip at Sea-Tac) and then go through immigration clearance, pick up checked luggage, continue to customs (taking 30-60 minutes). For transfer to a domestic flight recheck-in your bags, go through TSA security screening & proceed to your connecting flight. 2. Alaska Airlines uses Satellite North (N gates), as well as Concourses C & D (C & D gates) of the Main Terminal. As transfers between them are very different, I suggest you open then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text. Your time could be very tight, depending on which connection you have to take.

  • can i make it?
    Nov 3, 2013
flight schedule changed a bit. can i arrive at 6 am gate S3 and make connection at B7 in 30 minutes?

No way! The South Satellite (S gates) are for international arrivals, where you need to go through customs procedure first, then take the underground loop train to your connecting Concourse B (B gates). I suggest you open, then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text.

ignore Sunov - there are also domestic flights in S. However, it is still a very difficult connection.

  • LHR - SEA - LAS....Enough time
    Nov 4, 2013
IIm booked onto a delta flight arriving into Seattle from LHR at 2:25pm for a connecting skywest flight at 4:00pm. I know this isnt a great deal of time. Just trying to get an heads up which terminal/bag drop off/ quickest route for my connecting flight

You should have enough time for your transfer. While you will arrive at Satellite S via Delta & go through the customs process, you need to find out if SkyWest will fly on behalf of Delta Connection /Delta Airlines or on behalf of United, or US Airways. If with Delta, your bags will automatically be transferred; otherwise you will need to re-check-in your bag with either United or US Airways. For international Arrivals procedures and transfer options, I suggest you open, then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text.

My skywest flight is on behalf of delta. So my bags will automatically transferred? I always thought upon arriving into the US you had to pick your bags up regardless?

  • Alaska airlines connecting to icelandair
    Oct 11, 2013
Hi - I am flying from ANC to seattle on Alaska airlines and then from seattle to Reykjavik on Icelandair. My layover time is 1 hour 15 minutes. I booked through kayak so the tickets were bought together. Will I have enough time to make my connection? What is the distance between the concourses/terminals. I have one checked bag.

While Alaska uses Concourses C & D & Satellite N (C, D & N gates), Iceland Air uses Satellite South (S gates). As your transfer depends on which gate you arrive from Alaska, I suggest you open then click on 'Terminal Map' under 'QUICK LINKS', and scroll down to the detailed text - paying attention to 'Getting Around". Your transfer time should suffice.

  • International to Domestic Flight

I am arriving at SEA 7:00AM from Kelowna BC Canada on Alaska Airlines 2455 Operated by HORIZON AIR AS ALASKA AIRLINES and leaving on Alaska Airlines 456 at 8:20 and no checked luggage, will I need to clear security again? How far will I have to go in the airport?

Yes, since Kelowna doesn't have pre-clearance you'll have to go through US Immigration and customs in Seattle. You will have to go through security again after you exit customs.

hi, i arrive in seattle at 9:40pm and the latest connecting flight to spokane is at 11:00pm on alaska. i will have checked in luggage. do i have enough time to make my flight?

Yes, if your first flight is on-time and your bags are checked through or you don't have checked bags you should have enough time. However, it might be difficult if you have to transfer bags yourself.

  • Gate n6
    Sep 18, 2013
Where do I get dropped off for a flight leaving at gate n6

If you need to check a bag, you get dropped off at the sign for your airline. if you don't need to check a bag, you can be dropped off anywhere at the main terminal.

  • What gates?

Our son is arriving on Alaska 725, and connecting to Alaska 173. What are the gates for these two flights?

You won't know exact gates until day of departure. It could be in C, D, or N.

    Thank you

  • arriving on a domestic flight and departing on an international flight
    Aug 16, 2013
I arrive on Delta Flight DL7541 operated by Alaskan Airlines and depart on Delta Flight DL183 for Osaka Japan, can you give me directions upon reaching the airport.

You could arrive either in the N satellite or D Concourse. You will depart from the S satellite. If you arrive in N, you need to take the train to the Main Terminal North station, then get on another train to the Main Terminal South station, then a third train to the S Satellite. If you arrive in D, you walk to the Main Terminal North station and then follow the same route.

  • connecting alaska flight to pasco
    Aug 15, 2013
how/were do I get to the connecting flight after arriving in SEA

At SEA, Alaska Airlines uses Satellite North (N gates), Concource C (C gates) and Concourse D (D gates). Your boarding pass and the overhead screens on arrival will indicate flight and gate numbers. While the Concourses are connected at post-security, the Satellite is linked to the main terminal by continuously running underground loop trains. If departing from the North Satellite, add 10-15 mins transfer time.

I'll be flying into Seattle on Alaska Airlines next month. Where do I go to make connecting flight on Alaska Airlines to Bellingham?

Alaska uses Satellite North and Concourses C & D of the Main Terminal. Concourse C has gates C2A-C2M & C3-C20. Near gate C14, go down to transit to D & N gates. Concourse D has gates D1-D11. Opposite gate D3, down 2 levels, is transit to C & N gates. The North Satellite has gates N1-N16. Near gate N10, down one level, is transit to Main Terminal, baggge claim & all other gates. Check the overhead screens on arrival for your connecting flight & gate number.

  • Getting from B gates to D gates?
    Jul 31, 2013
    How long? Walkable?

Yes, the only way to get between them is walking. It should take between 10 and 20 minutes.

  • Quickest way to get from C gates to D gates
    Jul 22, 2013
What is the quickest way to get from C gates to D gates for a connecting flight? Is it quicker to just walk it on the same level or take the train 2 levels down?

At SEA, Concourses A, B, C & D are connected at post-security, enabling passengers to freely move around without having to leave the secured area.

Just walk, it's a very simple connection.
