  • Transfer from Delta to Alaskan
    May 5, 2015
My family arrives at SEA at 6.56pm from SYD via LAX and we are thinking about booking the 8:30pm Alaskan flight to DEN. There is 6 of us and we need to collect checked luggage. Do we have a chance with 94 minutes between flights?

That would be pretty difficult to make it if purchasing two separate tickets as you will have to transfer your bags yourself. Also, Alaska Airlines doesn't fly nonstop from LAX to DEN, sot hat flight you're looking at is operated by another airline, probably American.

  • Concourse C to Gates A or S in one hour?
    May 1, 2015
Hi: I'm arriving in Seattle on Alaska Airlines from Boise, and it looks like the flight usually arrives at Concourse C. We have one hour before our Delta flight departs to Paris (S or A gate; Flight 3653 has used both). We are carrying on baggage. The flights are on the same itinerary, and since Alaska and Delta are partners, I asume we will get boarding passes for Delta in Boise. Is an hour enough time to get to the Delta flight? Do we walk from the C gate to A or S, or take a train? Thanks!

Yes that should be enough time and Alaska should be able to issue both boarding passes in Boise. You can walk from C to A. You have to take a train to S.

    Great! Thank you!

  • Connection time of 1:15 hr between Domestic & international
    May 1, 2015
I am flying from Anchorage to Calgary via Seattle with both flights on Delta Airlines ,I only have 1:15 hr connection time between flights are the gates close by and how long to go through security & immigration ?

You do not go through US Immigration when leaving the US. You will go through Canadian Immigration when you get to Calgary. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate in Seattle. Delta uses gates in the A, B, and S concourses. S is connected to A and B by an underground train inside security.

  • Immigration and customs in seattle. 1 hr 50 mins layover
    Apr 30, 2015
ill be flying from ICN-SEA-JNU ICN-SEA with a 1 Hr and 50 min layover, with a connection SEA-JNU "alaska air" Do i go through immigration and customs, and then out the gate. and then go back into the TSA line for my connection with alaska air? or do i go through customs and i will be able to go straight to alaska air gate with out being checked again from TSA? also how close would it be with me seated in the back of my plane seat 44 "boeing 777-300 er" with 1hr 50 mins? dan

In Seattle you will arrive in the S concourse, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. Your flight to Juneau will leave from the C, D, or N concourse. You should have enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • sufficient time to make connection?
    Apr 30, 2015
Would 1hr55min be enough time to connect coming in on lufthansa from frankfurt and connecting to a Southwest flight? Flying business coming in and also have global entry and planning only carry on. what if i have to check my bag? still enough time?

    What airport?

    Sorry-coming into seattle

Without checked bags if you check in for your Southwest flight and print out your boarding pass before you leave Germany, I think you can do it. However, with a checked bag, I don't think you will get your bag to the Southwest check-in desk before the cutoff.

I will have about 90 mins to connect in SEA to LAS coming from NRT on Delta. Is this enough time to clear customs, get to the gate, etc?

Yes, that should be enough time.

I am flying into SEA from LAX, and connecting to Shanghai, China in May 1st. What gate will I be arriving in? What gate will I be departing from? Is 35 minutes connecting time enough?

You will arrive in the A, C, or S gates and depart from the S gates. You should have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

Hello, I am traveling from HNL to Seattle via Alaska Airlines and connecting to American Airlines operated by US Airways to Phoenix and on to Orlando Florida that same flight. At the Seattle Airport are the gates for Alaska Airlines and American Airlines/US Airways within the same concourse? Do I have to get my baggage from Alaska Airlines and check into American Airlines/US Airways and go through a TSA checkpoint? Traveling with young children and the layover is 1 hr 15 minutes.

Were your tickets purchased separately or together? If together, your baggage will be transferred and all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Alaska uses 3 concourses - C, D, and N. US Airways uses A.

Hi, I am traveling from LAX-SEA-AMS-GOT with Delta Airlines on the 23 june. It is only 37 minutes between flights landing in Seattle and the flight to Amsterdam. Is it enough time? Do I need to claim my luggage?

You do not have to claim your luggage, all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate and all gates in Seattle are connected inside security. However it obviously leaves very little time to spare if your flight from LAX is delayed at all.

  • Connection time from Vancouver to Germany via. Seattle
    Apr 27, 2015
Hello, I have a connection time of 1h22min in Seattle after arriving from Vancouver, BC, Canada with Air Canada, then departing with Lufthansa German Airlines to Frankfurt, Germany, booked from United Airlines. I would like to know if this is a formidable connection time. Thanks a lot for the help.

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate in concourse A to your departure gate in the S Satellite via the underground train. You should have plenty of time.

    Thanks a lot!

  • Alaska to Hainan Airlines
    Apr 25, 2015
I am traveling from OAK-SEA-PEK, with alaska and hainan airlines. I found that alaska airlines is at north gate and hainan is at south gate. How much time do I need to transfer and do I need to claim my checked bag?

You need about 45 minutes to an hour. No, if you purchased your tickets together you don't have to claim your bag.

  • Transfering from one gate to another
    Apr 22, 2015
Getting from "C" gate to "D" gatein 40 minutes. Should I walk or take the North train loop?

  • airport security delays
    Apr 22, 2015
My flight is at terminal N 9 and I will be coming in on a shuttle bus from Whidbey Island. My flight departs at 11:50 am May 19th. Alaska airline, but I am unable to get to the airport until 10:30 am have no bags to check and I will be printing my boarding pass before leaving home. Is this going to give me enough time to make my flight if all goes as planned.

Yes, that is plenty of time. Seattle only has one terminal. N is a satellite gate area, not a terminal. All you have to do when you arrive at the airport is go through security, and then if your flight is indeed departing from N (check the monitors or airline website as gates can change and Alaska operates out of 3 different gate areas), take the underground train to N.

    Thank you for the information.

  • connecting in seattle between San jose and Vancouver
    Apr 23, 2015
Hi - both flights are with Delta, but only 40 min between landing in Seattle and the flight to Vancouver. Is this enough time? Given that we're flying to canada, can we check luggage at San Jose all the way through? If we have to re-check then am sure it wont be enough time. Can anyone advise please?

Yes, your baggage will go straight through to Vancouver. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

thank you sir. is there any way of checking if Delta flights are all in the same terminal (ie in from SJC and out to YVR) - in which case u right shd be loads of time. Out of curiosity, would Delta be responsible if their first flight was delayed leading to missing 2nd flight? Sorry, total amateur here :-(

Seattle only has one terminal. The vast majority of Delta flights are in the S Satellite. All gates in Seattle are connected inside security. If you miss your connection Delta will rebook you on the next available flight to Vancouver (either on their own airline or on another airline if there is no flight of their own).

ZAP thank you so much. one last amateur qn if you know... checked baggage rates, will delta charge that for the trip (SJC-YVR) or by individual flight (SJC-SEA and SEA-YVR)... its amazing how these costs rack up :-(

i have connection from los angeles to seattle then seattle to hong kong. im flying delta airline. am i going to arrive and depart at the same terminal gate S? or do i need to transfer terminal to terminal? if i need to transfer terminal to terminal; is it far?

when i return to US, do i need to go through to custom?

Both of your gates in Seattle will be in S. All toy have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. If you are following the same route on your return, you will go through US Customs in Seattle.

do i need to claim my luggage after custom

Yes, on your return you will arrive in the S Satellite, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and to your departure gate, which should also be in S.
