Hi. I am traveling Air Canada from Vancouver to Seattle and then connect to United for onward travel to Narita. I have a 70 minutes layover. Will I have to go thru US Customs and Immigration? I am trying to see if this connection on to Japan will work or not. Hopefully I am pre cleared from Canada to US (I am a US citizen). Thanks

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate if both tickets are on the same reservation. That would be enough time.

Hi! I am flying from Hong Kong to Denver via Delta and have around 1 hr 50 mins before my next Delta flight to Denver. Is it enough to get through customs and all security process? Thank you very much!

It's barely enough time if everything goes smoothly.

I will be flying from Narita (Delta Airlines) to Seattle and my layover time is 1HR23MINS. Is that enough time to recheck my luggage, go through immigration, and get to my gate?

Flight is from SEA to DEN

No, that's not a legal international to domestic connection in Seattle.

Hi, I am flying from Amsterdam to Seattle and have a layover of 1,5 hour before my next flight to Anchorage. Is 1,5 hour enough to get through customs? It is a connecting flight and not two separate tickets.

It's technically a legal connection but it will be very difficult.

Hello! I am considering flying from Edmonton, Alberta to Seattle and will have only a 56 minute layover until my Seattle to Pasco flight. Will this be enough time? For some reason, I can't remember if I am pre-cleared for US immigration in Edmonton or not. I am a US citizen living in Canada and I do remember that customs is generally fast coming back in.

Yes, you will clear US Immigration and Customs in Edmonton.

I have an hour lay over; is that enough time to get to my connecting flight if I have to take a train to the correct terminal?

That should be enough time. The trains run frequently and inside security and there's a good possibility you won't even have to take one.

I am flying in from New Delhi to San Diego via Seattle by Emirates. I have an Indian passport and the layover time at Seattle is 1hr45mins. My flight is by Alaskan Airlines. Will I get enough time to clear customs and do check-in baggage ?

That is barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.

Hi there, I am flying into seattle airport from Victoria, and have a 2 hour and 30 min connecting time and then onward to LAX. Is this enough time to go through immigration and get my bags and recheck them? Thanks in advance for any info!

Yes that should be enough time as long as everything is on the same reservation.

  • Connection Air Canada to United

I have a 48 minute connection arriving on Air Canada and departing on United. Enough time? AC flight will be a Bombardier Q400 flight so not sure if that will be walking on Tarmac to gate.

If both tickets are on the same reservation that should be enough time. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs at your origin and both Air Canada and United use concourse A in Seattle and all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

I arrive from Vancouver and have 1 hour 20 minutes to connect with my JFK flight. I'm checking luggage. Will the checked luggage be transferred to the connecting flight in time?

If both tickets are on the same reservation your bags will be transferred. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver.

I will be flying from Montego Bay, Jamaica to Atlanta then from Atlanta to Seattle then Seattle to Alaska. Flights are through Delta. Will I have to go through security again in Seattle and recheck my bags. If so, how much time should I have between flights

All you have to do in Seattle is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. As little as 30-45 minutes is doable.

Hello, I am flying with Alaskan Airlines from Honolulu to Seattle and then transferring to British Airways from Seattle to London Heathrow. I have a connection time of 2 hours and 25 minutes. Will this be enough time? I will have luggage and don't know if I will need to pick up in Seattle and check it back in or not. Thanks

If both tickets are on the same reservation you don't have to do anything with your bags in Seattle. There is no US Customs when leaving the US. You just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.

Thank you for your reply I have just thought I don't know if it counts as the same reservation or not? All flights were booked through British Airways on the phone but the flight with Alaskan airlines does not have a BA code it is AS. Other flights with British Airways such as American Airlines have been given a BA code. I hope that makes sense.
