Arrive Delta flt# 2246 5:42am, depart delta fly #7627 6:45 am (operated by Alaska air). Do they share the same concourse? Should I have time to connect?

They do not share the same concourse but all the gates at SEA are connected beyond security.

  • North Terminal Train is closed when??

  • Connecting to international flight
    May 14, 2013
Flying with my kids from Oakland to SEA on AlsakaAir, then connecting to IcelandAir for international flight. Bought flights as seperatae reservations. We want to carry bags onto flight OAK to SEA, but check bags at IcelandAir for international flight. Do we have to go through security for connecting flight in SEA? Can we go directly to IcelandAir gate and check bags there? How much time should we allow for transfer through airport? Thank you for any information, Shelley

I doubt you will be able to check the bags at the gate (you might get lucky and they will let you). I would schedule at least 2 hours to make your connection. Preferably 3.

  • N gates to S gates
    May 14, 2013
Does anyone know how long it takes to go from N gates to S gates?

At SEA, to connect between the N gates and the S gates, take the train (near gate N10, down one level) from North Satellite to the Main Terminal, then cross over and take the train on the opposite side to the North Satellite stations & take escalator up. My guess is 25-30 mins.

    Thanks for the info.

  • Connecting to international flight

I am flying from Anchorage to India and will change flights in Seattle and Seoul, South Korea. I would like to get information on the following: 1. Do I have to collect check in bags in Seattle and re-check in to the Korean Air? 2. I will go through security check in Anchorage. When I transfer to connecting flight in Seattle, do I have to again go through security check or will I directly go to the gate of Korean Air? I just want to get an idea of time required in transit. Any information is highly appreciated. Thanks Pawan

Was your ticket bought on one reservation? If so you probably won't have to claim your bags in Seattle. I believe all gates in Seattle are connected beyond security so you won't have to go through any security there either.

  • Hawaiian to Alaskan in 10 minutes?
    Apr 13, 2013
Landing Hawaiian 11:05 pm. Can I catch Alaskan at 11:15 ?

At SEA, Hawaiian uses Concourse A (A gates), while Alaska uses Concourses D, C and Satellite North (N gates). 10 mins transfer seems to be not enough. I suggest you open; then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text.

  • Security Wait Times
    Apr 1, 2013
The iFly information on security wait times would be a lot more useful if there was any information on when it was last updated? Are these figures for this week, or last June?

Well it does say 'based on historical averages', and as a frequent traveler I'd say they're pretty close. HOWEVER, they're only pretty close for certain days of the week. Try flying Monday before 9am and you'll run into the east-coast crowd starting their week. Saturday afternoon? Not so much of a problem. They need to show average BY DAY. And please, could you decifer the check in lines are called? Not everyone knows the name of the entrance by the food court with twice as many metal detectors as the other entrances!

  • 1.5 hr connection - cutting it close?
    Mar 6, 2013
I'm scheduling a one-way Alaska cruise-tour at the end of May (start in Fairbanks on land and end in port of Vancouver). I am considering ticketing round trip to SEA and collecting my bags from American for check-in for Alaska flight to Fairbanks with 1.5 hrs in between. Is that time sufficient for baggage claim from AA and check-in with AS? Terminals may be changed by May such that all AS flights are from North Satelllite. Help!

That's probably enough time, but try pricing it as a multi-city itinerary on or an online travel agency and see if you get the same price. If you do that then your bag will be checked through to FAI and you won't have to worry about claiming it in SEA.

Thanks. That makes sense. I'll go thru

  • How to connect
    Feb 18, 2013
comming with Air France AF 3622 at 12:35 and had to leave to Victoria at 14:20 with Alaska Airlines AS 2386. Is it enough time and where to go?

You arrive at SEA from CDG at the South Satellite's Gate S2, and depart from the Main Terminal's Concourse B, gate B3. On arrival, you go through immigration clearance, pick up checked luggage, continue to customs & recheck your luggage and go through TSA security screening prior to proceeding to your connecting flight. To get from the South Satellite to the your connecting Alaska flight, you need to take the South Train Loop to the Main Terminal and head for Concourse B. Estimated transfer time: 1 hr 15 mins. at most. Caution: If AF does not transfer bags to Alaska flight, you would have to take them to main terminal & check them in there.

Our son is arriving on Alaska 92 and connecting to Horizon 2045. What are the gates for these two flights?

He arrives at Concourse C, Gate C-2C & departs from gate C15 (Horizon merged into Alaska, & gates are listed under Alaska). (Concourse C has gates C-2A through C-2M and als gated C3 to C 20.

  • International arrival/ no preclearance

Arriving from Kelowna,BC on Horizon, apparently at gate S3. Connecting to Horizon flight to Portland, connecting again with Alaska Air to Maui. Where do I pickup baggage at Seatac, go through customs, recheck baggage, go through security and which gate does Horizon fly to Portland from? We have approx. 1.5 hrs. between flights. Thanks.

You'll clear US Immigration and claim and recheck your bags with Alaska Airlines in S-Satellite. Then you'll go through security again and take the train to the main terminal and walk to Concourse C where your flight to Portland should depart from. It's a fairly involved connection that might take the full 1.5 hrs. Your connection in Portland should be easy.

  • Vancouver via Seattle to Frankfurt
    Feb 6, 2013
i will be arriving from Vancouver, Canada at Terminal M and have approx. 1.5 hrs. to transfer to Terminal 1 for my flight to Frankfurt. Do I have enough time to get around? I assume immigration/customs clearance takes place at YVR when checking in.

At Vancouver, go through US Customs Clearance. On arrival at SEA, use the shuttle train between the main terminal's South station and the B gates (assuming that 'Terminal M' is the main terminal, which has Concourses A, B, C & D). You have enough time for transfer.

  • Please help
    Jan 22, 2013
I will be arriving from Tokyo on United via ANA at 9:50 am Then go to Phoenix on us airways at 11;25. Do i have enough time?

At SEA, international passengers arrive at the South Satellite (whether changing planes or ending their trip at Sea-Tac) and, if transferring to another flight, go through immigration clearance, pick up checked luggage, & continue to customs (taking 30-60 minutes). For domestic flight connection, you must recheck your luggage and go through TSA security screening prior to proceeding to your connecting flight. To get to Concourse A take the escalator up to the Main Terminal, proceed to the departures level, go through security check and on to Concourse A (gates A1-14.) You have enough time.

  • 40 min. layover doable?
    Jan 16, 2013
I'm coming in from chicago into SEA via alaska airlines, and am going from SEA to juneau, ak still on ak airlines. do you think a 40 min. layover is a doable amount of time, seeing as it's still the same airline (i know in some airports some airlines are bundled into the same terminal, just different gates. is it like that in SEA?)

Alaska uses Concourses C & C & Satellite North. I suggest you open then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text.

thanks! i just looked. how long (if you know) would the shuttle take to get from c to satellite north, and visa versa? i'm not sure where i'll be arriving/departing just yet. seems doable so far if the shuttle doesn't take too long

  • 33 Mins Between S-Gates and C-Gates
    Jan 16, 2013
Is a 33min connection time between domestic Delta flight at S-Gates and Alaska flight at C-Gates doable? Will have carry-on bags only and have been at SeaTac before. Alternative is 3+ hrs layover.

Looks quite cumbersome: At SEA, on arrival at South Satellite and transferring to Concourse C, take first the STS train to the Main Terminal, cross over to the shuttle to the North Transit Station, and from there cross again to the train at the opposite side to take you to the end of Concourse C.

Understand the aitport tram routing to get between gates. I'm asking if anyone knows the actual time it takes to get from S-gates to C-gates. Trams run pretty frequently, but not sure what the entire time is on them from S to C-gates.
