Shenzhen Bao'an Airport layout &Terminal details and its Airlines, Amenities & services; International Arrivals and Transfers; Finding Transport, Parking & Hotel from Terminal 3:

Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport has one integrated passenger terminal (
'Terminal 3' or T3) - opened late 2013 - shaped like a Manta Ray and looking like a giant oval tube wrapped in honey-comb metal & glass.  The 1,050 x 650 meter layout is  built in a T-shape - designed to handle 45M passengers a year by 2020.  Upon entering the terminal from the transport level, leading to Terminal Hall via bridge, you get to the cathedral-like Hall with 25-meter cylindrical columns - the nerve center for all airport functions. The terminal  houses an estimated 200 check-in counters, 200 shops and 78 boarding gates, and accommodates   wide-bodied aircraft. 
In September 2016 The Airport became the first one in China to add to its security staff a security robot - easing security lines.

The new Terminal has six levels -two of which are underground. To the south of it is the connecting Ground Transport Center, reached from levels 1 or 2.  Gate areas on levels 1 -  arranged  by east & west side gates - continue in the center with the cross-shaped concourse with its airline gates. 
    Level 1 is for international arrivals with east & west gates, housing the Inspection & Qarantine from gates 63-78, and baggage claim with 4 baggage caroussels .
    Level 2 is for domestic arrivals  from gates 1-62, with baggage caroussels 1-7 (right) and 8-14 (left) - and access to  with two VIP lounges, and many food & retail concessions.
    Level 3 serves as waiting area for domestic & international passengers departing from the East wing: 
-  domestic passengers access their departure gates in the long cross-shaped section of the building, after going through security check at the far end of the check-in hall, while
- international passengers go through Customs & Immigration Hall (beyond central check-in counters) and proceed to the  international gates. 
    Level 4 is the Departures level with check-in areas A - H, divided at their center.  (D & E areas are for international flights and flights to Macao.) Level 4 also houses the Domestic Departure Hall, Baggage Wrapping (at Gates 2 & 6). Behind check-in Area A are: Left Baggage (tel. 0755 - 23457066) and Lost & Found (tel. 0755 - 23452663). AirlineCheck-in areas on level 4:
- Area A: Southern Airlines.
- Area B: 1 to 12 counters for China Southern Airlines domestic flights; 13 to 24 counters for team passengers of Hainan, Spring, Sichuan, Xiamen, Chengdu Airlines, and West Air.
- Area C: Hainan, Sichuan, Xiamen, Chengdu Airlines, and West Air.
- Area D & E: International flights of Shenzhen Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Air China, China Airlines, Uni Air, Air Asia, Tiger Airways, Silk Air, Korean Air, Asiana Airlines.
- Area E: China Eastern, Shanghai, Hebei, Juneyao Airline, Shangdong, Tibet Airlines, and Okay Airways,
- Areas G & H: Domestic flights of Shenzhen Airlines and Air China.

    Current International Airlines serving the terminal:  Asiana,  Korean, Silk Air, Tiger Airways, AirAsia, Heel Express, China Airlines (CI) & Uni Air (B7);
    Current domestic Airlines serving the terminal:  Air China, Air Cunming, Chengdu Air, China Southern, ChinaEastern, China United, Chongqing, Hainan, Hebei, JD, Junyao, Okay, Shanghai, Shandong, Shenzhen, Sichuan, Spring, Tibet, West Air & Xiamen.

    Amenities and services inside the Terminal  include food & drink & retail concessions, first-aid station, children's play area, a good number of VIP lounges, Lost & Found, storage, smoking areas, prayer rooms and baggage wrapping.
    International Arrivals: Proceed to Departures Hall; hand completed Health Quarantine Declaration Card to staff and show yellow fever vaccionation certificate (if applicable); go through passport check with valid passport & completed entry vista for China (if applicable) and completed Entry Registration Card. Then proceed to your baggage carousel and claim your bags. If you have something to declare, complete the Customs Declaration Form, choosing 'Declaration Channel' for customs clearance, while those without articles to declare may exit the airport or proceed to their connecting flight.
    International to Domestic transfers go through quarantine & border inspection; pick up your bags at baggage claim, go through customs, complete check-in procedure, go through security check and on to your boarding area.

Finding transport, parking & hotel from Terminal 3 (GTC = Ground Transportation Center):
Taxis:  to level 2 of GTC - taxi drive at east side .
Short-distance buses: to level 2 of GTC - bus drive is at east side.
Long-distance buses: to level 2 of GTC - take elevator down to level 1 waiting hall.
Parking garage: to level 2 of GTC with east & west sides, or take escalator to level 1.
Hotels: to level 2 of GIC, take escalator up to level 3, hotels are at east & west sides.
