Tahiti Faa'a International (PPT) Airport

Tahiti Faa'a International PPT Airport Overview

Tahiti Faa'a International Airport PPT is the only international airport servicing French Polynesia and is managed ADT. The medium-sized and uncrowded airport was built on reclaimed land on the coral reef, just off-shore of the island of Tahiti. Its major activity is limited to two or more international flights arriving and departing simultaneously, in which case passengers will have to scramble for available seating.

The Airport is located in the Faa'a community, 3 miles southwest of the capital city of Papeete, on Tahiti Island, and is situated on the main road between Mahina & Punaauia.

With a long runway and about 1.2M passengers per annum, Tahiti Faa'a Internatioa Airport is served by several major international air carriers, as well as by inter-island and charter flights.

The Main passenger terminal at Tahiti Faa'a Airport is divided into Domestic T1 and International T2 sections; a separate small domestic Terminal is to the right, reached by walkway.  Amenities & services include  a post office, a bank and a foreign exchange desk- (open when international flights come in), food & drink establishments, cyber points, gift, flower and pearl shops, a duty-free shop and rental car and tour operator offices.

Parking options at Tahiti Faa'a Airport: P1 is across from the Domestic Terminal 1 & International Terminal. P2 (Parking 2) is adjacent to the Domestic Terminal 2. The parking lot has a fee-based baggage storage area where you can leave your bags while you go visit Papeete. The 'Fare Hei' market is situated in the parking lot, offering Polynesian products made by mostly elderly Tahitian women who exhibit their handiwork and crafts.

Getting from Tahiti Faa'a International Airport to your destination: It's about a 3-mile trip into Papeete, reached by taxi.  Ferry service (Quai des Ferries) is a short distance from the Airport.
