Tenerife Sur TFS Airport Overview

Tenerife Sur (South) Airport TFS, also known as 'Reina Sofia Airport' serves the southen part of the island of Tenerife, and is located in the town of Granadilla de Abono, 60 km from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which is situated on the southern tip of the island of Tenerife, the largest island of the Canary chain located off the coast of Morocco.

The City of Santa Cruz is not only the capital of Tenerife Island, but also the capital of the Canaries, which is an autonomous community of Spain. Tenerife Island has two airports, the Tenerife Sur and the Tenerife Norte. Together they account for approximately 12.8 million passengers per annum.

With an estimated 8.5 million passengers in 2012, Tenerife Sur Airport is served by a number of domestic & international airlines, as well as by charters, offering direct and connecting flights to all points of the globe. Fridays and during the winter season are the busiest times at the airport.

The passenger terminal at Tenerife Sur Airport offers Aena Information points on the ground level and level 1 (tel. 902 404 704), shops, restaurants and cafes on both levels, Caja Canarias bank branch and ATM machines, a pharmacy, VIP lounge Montana Roja, and meeting rooms at Aena Lounge  and Teide Lounge, both on Level 1 (all lounges can be contacted at tel. 922 759 048), as well as a post office, lost luggage, Lost & Found, and a chapel. 
As the airport's passengers are mostly tourists, six tour operators are located at the airport to assist travelers.
Rental car agencies have desks on the ground & first level of the terminal.

Parking is right in front of the terminal and the first half hour of parking is free.

Rental car counters are located in the Arrivals area of the terminal.

To get from the Airport to your destination, you can rent a car, take a taxi, or a bus:
1. The taxi rank is in front of Arrivals, or call 922 397 074.
2. Public bus service (tel. 922 531 300) is available from the Airport to town, or to the City of Santa Cruz, with connections throughout the island. Routes 111, 340 & 343 stop at the Airport in front of Arrivals.
