Timisoara TSR Airport Overview

Timisoara International Airport TSR (officially called ‘AT Airport Timisoara Traian Vuia’) serves the Banat region of western Romania and its city Timosoara, and the Danube, Kris, Mures & Tisca Euroregion.

The Airport is located near the village of Ghiroda, and 12 km northeast of the city center of Timisoara, and is near the borders with Hungary and Serbia. It is Romania’s third-largest airport in terms of passengers, accessible by DN6/E70 motorways. The RATT Express 4 (E4) connects the terminal with the city center.

With a long runway and and over 1 million passengers in 2012, Timisoara Airport is served by domestic Tarom Airline and by other international regular and low-cost airlines, offering direct flights to a host of European cities, with connections around the globe. Seasonal charter flights are also available.
 
The passenger terminal at Timisoara Airport offers at present a snack bar in both pre- and post-security, and Costa Coffe, a restaurant/snack bar, is in pre-security. Duty-free shops are at international flight departures and a newsstand is in pre-security. Baggage wrapping is available near the check-in counters.  The Information desk is centrally located and can be reached at +40 256 493639. Monitors are located throughout the terminal and the audio announcements are in Romanian and in English.
Banking facilities: Banca Romana BRD has a branch in the pre-security area, open weekdays 9am-4pm, offering Western Union bank transfer and currency exchange; a BRD-GSG ATM cash machine is nearby.
Lounges: The Business Lounges for international and for domestic flights offer separate facilities; both offer internet access, a mini-bar and newspapers. The VIP lounge seats 8 persons, and the passenger Business Lounges seat 20 persons in the domestic lounge and 50 in the international lounge, both of which are accessible via a pass card, airline invitation or by payment of a fee.
 
Parking options at Timisoara Airport are available in Parking lot P1 (285 spaces) and Parking lot P2 (316 spaces), the first 15 minutes of parking are free in both lots. Thereafter parking is charged by an automated system.  For more parking information, call 0256-491637, ext. 2209 or 2149.

Rental car desks are located in the arrivals area of the terminal and car agencies operate according to flight schedule.
 
To get from Timisoara Airport to your destination, you can rent a car, take a taxi or a bus: 
(a) The taxi stand is in front of the Arrivals terminal; you can also order a taxi at the Information desk.
(b) The RATT Express Bus E4 runs between the Airport and city center at Bastion, with 5 stops in between; the trip takes about 20 minutes. The bus runs hourly, starting at 5:30am until 11pm. Tickets are available in the Domestic Flights terminal.
