The Airport is located near the village of Ghiroda, and 12 km northeast of the city center of Timisoara, near the borders with Hungary and Serbia. It is Romania’s third-largest airport in terms of passengers, accessible by DN6/ E70 motorways. The RATT Express 4 (E4) connects the terminal with the city center.
With a long runway and and over 1 million passengers yearly, Timisoara Airport is served by domestic Tarom Airline and by other international regular and low-cost airlines, offering direct flights to a host of European cities, with connections around the globe. Seasonal charter flights are also available.
Banking facilities: Banca Romana BRD has a branch in the pre-security area, open weekdays 9am-4pm, offering Western Union bank transfer and currency exchange; a BRD-GSG ATM cash machine is nearby. Rental car desks are in the arrivals area and its agencies operate according to flight schedule.
Lounges: The Business Lounges for international and for domestic flights offer separate facilities; both offer internet access, a mini-bar and newspapers. The VIP lounge seats 8 persons, and the passenger Business Lounges seat 20 persons in the domestic lounge and 50 in the international lounge, both of which are accessible via a pass card, airline invitation or by payment of a fee.
