  • Baggage and connection in Pearson

I will be flying from Montreal (YUL) to Abu Dhabi with a connection in Toronto Pearson. I made the flight reservation with Etihad Airways, but the ticket indicates that the first segment (Montreal to Pearson) will be operated by Air Canada. My question is the following: do I need to get my baggage in Pearson and re-check it with Etihad? Thx!

Since everything is on the same reservation you don't have to do anything with your bags in Toronto.

  • Do I have to get my own bag?

So I'm flying home from Rome flying AC and then I am headed to the US flying AA. So I know I have to change terminals but my question is can I have a friend who is coming back from Rome with me get my bag from the carousel or do I HAVE to pick it up myself? I do not plan on taking it onto my US destination. The tickets were purchased separately.

The bag bay be sent to the US and not available for pickup.

My tickets are completely separate so my bag will not be continuing. But is someone else from my flight home from Rome be able to get my bag to take home and me continue onto the other terminal without collecting my bag.

Yes, it's possible, but if they are pulled aside by Canadian customs they'll have a lot of explaining to do as to why they have somebody else's bag.

Speed things up. Allow 2 checked bags up to a certain weight limit at no charge. Allow ONE carry on bag that will fit under seat at no charge. Charge HIGH FEES for any additional carry on items.

  • Connection at Pearson before San Jose

I'm flying from Vancouver to Pearson and have a 2 hour layover before my flight to San Jose. Will I have to recheck my baggage or just go through customs at Pearson? Both flights are Air Canada.

I assume you are flying to San Jose, Costa Rica. In that case all you have to do in Toronto is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. There is no Canadian customs when leaving Canada.

We are travelling from YUL to YYZ then onto Turks and Caicos. The westjet site is not clear if we need to retrieve our baggage or not. Our connection time is an hour. Do I need to pick up the baggage and recheck it ?

If both flights are on Westjet you don't have to claim your baggage, you just have to go to your international gate.

thank you for your fast reply. Greatly appreciated

As we all know we cant travel with any thing in liquid form over 50ml. So I'm obliged to send my Bag in luggage. Can some one tell me how long it takes to get luggages after the plane lands?

It depends. Somewhere from 10-30 minutes usually.

  • Collect luggage or not?

Hi, I am traveling from Winnipeg to TO via Air Canada, Terminal 1 then going to Dublin, Aer Lingus, Terminal 3 (2 hour layover). Will my luggage be transferred or will I have to pick it up? Thanks for your help!

Did you purchase your tickets on one reservation or two separate reservations? If two separate ones then you will likely have to claim your bags in Toronto and re-check them with Aer Lingus.

I purchased it as one flight with a change in TO.

I will fly from europe to toronto and then after 5 hre layover to windsor but my question is can I get my bags in toronto airport if I want to stay there eventhough my ticket is to windsor?

Yes, you will claim your bags in Toronto to go through Canadian Customs, but you can only skip a leg if it's the last one of your trip.
