Hi all,
I'm flying from Calgary to Atlanta with an 18 hour stopover in Toronto. I'm flying in on Westjet and flying out on Delta (codeshare partners).
Does anyone know if I will have to collect my baggage when I land and keep it with me for those 18 hours? or will they take care of it and I'll meet my luggage in Atlanta?

Thank you in advance for your help!!
Is your layover overnight or same day? If it's overnight you'll probably have to claim your bags.
It's overnight - ah okay, thanks for the quick help! Appreciate it :)
I have a flight booked to LAX from YXU with a stop in Toronto? Will I have to pick up my bags to go through US Immigration? Also I only have 1 1/4 hours layover in Toronto. Is that enough time?
In most cases you do not have to claim your bags to go through US Immigration and Customs preclearance in Toronto. You should have just enough time.
Thank you!
International from FCO to YYZ through YUL all AC flights 2 hour layover. Will I collect baggage in YUL and go through customs before connection; or will baggage forward direct to YYZ to clear customs at final destination
Barring any unusual issues your bags should go through to Toronto.
Thank you ZAP
Travelling from Edmonton to Toronto with a connection to Miami. Will I have to pick up luggage in Toronto or will it go straight through. On WestJet all the way
Unless there is an issue you shouldn't have to claim your bags in Toronto.

I have flight from Manila to Toronto under Philippine Airlines, but has a connecting flight from Vancouver to Toronto under WestJet Airlines.

Do I have to get my baggage in Vancouver? Or will the airlines take care of transfer, and I will be able to get my baggage directly in Toronto?

Thank you!
Yes, I believe you will have to claim your bags in Vancouver to go through Canadian customs. However, check with Border Canada once there.
We are travelling from Ottawa to LA via Toronto - do we need to collect our baggage in Toronto and go through security?
Yes, your bags will be waiting for you at US Immigration and Customs Preclearance in Toronto.
Hi, this is my first time visiting Canada. I'll be flying in from Hong Kong to Toronto and then transiting here to Saint John, NB at the end of January. I will have close to 4 hours before my flight to Saint John but I'm confused about the procedures.

When I get off the plane, do I need to go through customs and border control? Do I need to pick up my luggage and then recheck in my luggage?
Yes, you will go through Canadian Immigration and Customs. They will tell you whether or not you have to claim your bags, I believe you will. Canada is in a weird state right now where people coming from some countries have to claim their bags to go through customs and some countries don't.
Hi, do I need to pick up my luggage in Toronto even though my final destination is Thunder Bay? Im flying from Sydney to Los Angeles to Toronto and then Thunder Bay.. Plss help me.. Thanks
You will have to pick up your bags in Los Angeles but will not in Toronto.
I am flying on WestJet from Winnipeg to New York with a quick stop in Toronto.

Are my bags checked through to New York or will I need to pick them up in Toronto?
Yes, in Toronto you will have to go through US Immigration and Customs preclearance. Your bags will be waiting for you there.
