No control tower - is that safe?May 29, 201331I have to fly out of TTN on Frontier this week. I just heard somewhere that the "Sequestor" has closed their control tower. I'm sure that there's a way to take off and land without one.. just looking for reassurance from someone that knows how that's done. :-(jclposted on Mon, May 27This recent news article regarding Frontier expansion at TTN should reassure you. (at several airports throughout the country, the 'sequestor' was recently reversed).tumay13posted on Tue, May 28Frontier has jus extended its services at TTN - you are safe!tumay13posted on Tue, May 281 person likes this post [ Like ]Un-towered airports are no big deal, they just require talking to different people. The pilots will get a clearance into controlled airspace and a release time from the controlling ARTCC or TRACON (instead of the Tower), that ensures traffic separation once they leave the immediate vicinity of the airport. Takeoffs, landings, and the tiny bit of airspace around the un-towered airport are coordinated between the pilots via radio and eyesight (some aircraft are not equipped with radios.) If the weather is so low that you can't see, then no one can takeoff without a release time and an IFR clearance, which insures traffic separation but also greatly limits how many aircraft are able to land per hour (which is why busy airports have a control tower.) Is it safer with a tower? The short answer is yes...but at less busy airports, its analogous to wearing a helmet while driving a car. Wear your helmet on a motorcycle (busy airport.)Capt Crunchposted on Wed, May 29

Rudest people everMay 20, 201300I have never been treated so rudely in my life. The staff at the airport is unhelpful, rude and just plain ignorant. There is no courtesy calls or reminders that you need to check in and if you miss your flight while you are standing right next to the desk they don't even have the courtesy to say "hey do you need to get on this flight" while your husband is using the VERY SLOW shuttle bus to park your vehicle. I would not fly out of Trenton or fly Frontier airlines again if it was the last choice on earth!!Jetpackposted on Mon, May 20

Parking at TTNApr 12, 201321What do you mean the parking is wrong? I would like to leave my car there for a few days while flying to Florida. Can't I do that? I've tried to call the airport but just get a message saying parking is free - is that true?tbizposted on Mon, Apr 11 person likes this post [ Like ]

COMPLETELY WRONG INFORMATION!!!!Feb 9, 201310"The Web's Best Airport Guide"??? I don't think so. TTN has non-stop service on Frontier Airlines to 10 cities (Detroit, Chicago, Columbus, Raleigh-Durham, Atlanta, New Orleans, Tampa, Ft. Lauderdale, Ft. Myers, Orlando) There is no such airline as Streamline going to Massachusetts. Your website is completely outdated and offers no current information about this airport. FAIL!WSNposted on Sat, Feb 9You are barking up the wrong tree! iFly never made claims you state. It also was updated 1/27/13 stating "... Trenton Mercer Airport is mainly used for general aviation and averages about 100,000 takeoffs & landings per year. The only commercial airline at present is Frontier Airlines offering flights to Forida's Fort Myers, Fort Lauderdale & Tampa, and to New Orleans." - that information came right from the source.safeb13posted on Sat, Feb 9
