Trieste No-Borders TRS Airport Overview

Trieste No-Borders Airport TRS, also known as Friuli Venezia Giulia Airport, serves the north-eastern Italian region of Fiuli Venezia Giulia and its city of Trieste. The Airport’s catchment area stretches also into neighboring Slovenia and Croatia. Many flight schedules adjust to the summer & winter seasons.

The Airport is located 0.56 km west of the town of Ronchi dei Legionari (Gorizia), and only 1 km off the A4 Trieste-Venice motorway (Redipuglia exit). It is also near Trieste, the region’s largest city..

With a long runway 0.9 million passengers in 2012, Trieste Airport is served by domestic, international, regular & low-fare airlines, offering direct flights to European cities, with connections around the world. The Airport’s winter season starts at the end of October and ends at the end of March, during which time many flights depart for popular ski resort areas..

The three-level passenger terminal at Trieste No-Borders Airport  has 13 check-in desks, 9 boarding gates, 2 loading bridges, and a VIP Lounge.
1. The Gound Level is divided into Arrivals & Departure areas and offers:
(a) in Arrivals a baggage claim area, passport checkpoint, Lost & Found, first aid station, taxi office, customs check point, post office, Flydirect general aviation, Jat Airways, Tourist information & Customs (Tel. +39 0481 778070). Rental car agencies are located in the Arrivals hall.
(b) in Departures a security check-point, a bar, Airport ID office, check-in desks, a duty-fee shop, a FVG Lounge, passport checkpoint, and Gates 1 to 5. 
(c) Accessible to both departing and arriving passengers are: rental car counters, Belleair, a bank, the ticket office,  AFVG Travel, and a news & gift shop. 
2. The Mezzanine level houses Gates 8-9 and 6-7, with three passport check points.
3. The Upper level has a Skyview restaurant & bar, a meeting room and a conference room (near the stairway & lift).
Parking at Trieste No-Borders Airport is available in three open-air car parks with a total of 1,100 spaces. Disabled parking is available in all three car parks. No advance booking is accepted. For passenger drop-off or loading/unloading , free ‘kiss & fly’ parking spaces for up to 15 mins. are in front of the terminal. The short-term parking lot P3 / P4 is right across from the passenger terminal; the medium-term parking lot P2 is close-by; and the long-term parking lot P1 is near the circle road entrance to the Airport. For more information, contact Sogepar at +39 0481 474487.
Payment for P1 & P2 parking can be made: (a) at the P2 cash point before exiting the car, either at the cashier (cash credit/debit card, or Bancomat), or at the automatic cash machine (cash or credit card); (b) at the car park exit by credit card only.
 
To get from Trieste No-Borders Airport to your destination, you can rent a car, take a taxi, a limo, a bus, or a bus to the train:
1. Taxis are located outside the passenger terminal and are available daily 8am-midnight. For more information call the Taxi Consortium at +39 0481 778000 (24-hr phone: +39 335 6914776). You can also order a Limousine at +39 335 137300.
2. Buses by APT Gorizia (free tel. 800 955 957 or +39 0481 593511 or visit aptgorizia.it. ) run Mon-Fri 7:30am-7:15pm, Sat 7:30am-1:15pm to close-by towns:  to Trieste (Bus 51 at 3.25 EUR); to Udine (Bus 51 nonstop at 3.80 EUR); to Gorizia (Buses 1 & 26 at 2.65 EUR); to Monfalcone (Buses 1, 26 & 51 at 1.03 EUR); and to Grado (Buses 1 & 26 at 2.65 EUR).
You can purchase tickets at the city bus station Mon-Fri, or at the Airport at (a) automatic ticket machine in Arrivals Hall, or (b) the tourist information counter in the Departures Hall.
Bus connections are available from Trieste Bus Station to Slovenia & Croatia; and from Udine Bus Station to Udine Province, Pordenone & its province, Venezia and eastern Veneto, and Austria.
(c) You can also catch a train connection at the Udine railway station, which is in front of the bus station. Also, the Monfalcone railway station (on the Trieste-Venice railway line), only 5 km from the Airport, is serviced by APT Bus 10, which runs every 20-25 mins., & offers connections to other towns & cities.
