Vaasa VAA Airport Overview

Vaasa Airport VAA serves the city of Vaasasituated on the west coast of central Finland, which is a center for the local energy technology industry.
The Airport is located 9 km southeast of the city of Vaasa, and is easily accessible via highway 3, E8 & E12, and from roads 673 & 715.

With one runway and 374,141 passengers in 2012,  Vaasa Airport is served by a number of domestic & international airlines, offering direct flights to cities within Skandinanvia and the Baltics, with connections around the globe. Seasonal charter flights are available to popular vacation destinations.

The passenger terminal at Vaasa Airport offers the following amenities: Terminal Services, tel: 020 708 6130 (for parking, fax, lost property and left luggage locker services); a restaurant, child care facilities, and disabled services. There is one public coin & credit-card telephone and one for phone cards,  two taxi hot-line phones, and a mail box.  NOTE in late 2012 renovation & extension work started on both Departures & Arrivals lobbies to add more shops & restaurants, as well as a fourth departure gate. 

Parking options at Vaasa Airport: The Airport has a parking gate system. Parking is available on a short-and long-term basis.
You have several payment options:
1. The easiest option is to use a credit card—just swipe your card at the machine upon arrival and again upon exit.
2. You can also use a cash-operated ticket system like in multi-storey car parks; payment machines are in the terminal lobby.
3. Parking meters in the terminal lobby accept 0.5, 1 & 2 EUR coins and 5, 10, & 20 EUR notes, as well as credit cards.

To get from Vaasa Airport to your destination, you can rent a car, take a taxi or the public bus or a train: 
1. Taxis: (2 taxi hotline phones are inside the terminal) Vaasa Airport Taxi, Tel: 06 100 411 or 0600 30011, from abroad +358 6 3200 111. 
2. Public buses: Bus 10 from Kauppatori (Market place) departs 7, 8 and 9am, while Bus 4 departs 2, 3 and 4pm. The routes pass Stromberg Park and Runsor. These buses stop at the Airport on weekdays.   For point-to-point connections (in English) open matka.fi/en/ 
3. The nearest railway station is in Vaasa, 12 km away.
