I am booking a flight from Hanoi, Vietnam to Victoria, B.C., Canada in late August. But the problem is that most of the flights have less than 2 hours layover in Vancouver Int. Airport.

I would like to know if 2 hours is enough for me to go through passport control, claim my luggages, clear customs, go from international arrival to domestic departure, and check-in my luggages again for the next domestic flight.

Thank you very much for your help.
Yes, that should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I have a flight from Mexico City to Seoul with connection in Vancouver and the time between one flight and another is 70 minutes, is that long enough?
Both flights are by air Canada,
That should be just enough time if everything goes perfectly.
Hi! I am from Calgary travelling to Honolulu. I arrive in Vancouver at 4:51 pm and my flight to Honolulu leaves at 6:05 pm. Flying on Air Canada to Vancouver, then Air Canada Rouge to Honolulu (same booking). Will I have re-check baggage and go through customs? Is my layover enough time?
In Vancouver you will proceed to US Immigration and Customs preclearance where your bags should be waiting for you. You should have enough time.
Hello, We are going to be traveling from DEN to YVR and then boarding a flight to TPE. I only have an 1 hr 10 mins to transfer flights in YVR. They are both in Terminal M, so I'm hoping this will be enough time to transfer through?
That should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.
My 93 mother and I are flying out of YVR. She is flying Air Canada and I am flying Alaska. Can we both go to the same check in area? She will need my assistance.
The check in area is the same but you will then have to split for you to go through US Immigration and Customs Preclearance, unless you are both heading to the US.
I am a Canadian traveling from Vancouver to Seattle and then Seattle to Maui, just wondering if i'll have to go thru security or Customs again in Seattle airport,?
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver. All you have to do in Seattle is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
awesome! Thank you so much!
I will be flying from Penticton to Vancouver on Air Canada and then have to check in and go to Delta Air to fly from Vancouver to Seattle. Is 2hrs20min enough time to make my Delta flight?
Yes, that should be enough time if the first flight is on-time.
phew! Thanks again for the quick response.
I'm an American citizen, flying air Canada to Shanghai, connecting at YVR. Do I need to clear Canadian Customs, pick up my bags, recheck my bags, and go through security in order to make my connection to Shanghai? Thank you for your responses!
You won't have to do anything with your bags in Vancouver. All you have to do is go through Canadian passport control and to your departure gate.
I'm an American citizen flying from Seattle to London Through YVR. I know I have more than ample time to make my connection both going and coming back if I just hang out behind security--I'm just wondering if I will have time to meet a friend outside security or even leave the airport and go back through security. I've got 3 hours 56 minutes on my way to London, and 4 hours 30 minutes on my way home. As I'm typing this, I'm realizing that I should have planty of time if we stay in the airport--is there enough outside security to be worth it if I don't have time to go anywhere else? Both times, I'll be at YVR mid- to late afternoon, into early evening.
My daughter & her friend are flying from YWG to Beijing onto Bangkok via YVR. They are both Canadian. Can they check their bags all the way thru to Bangkok or do they have to claim them in YVR (and Beijing) and go thru customs? I'm trying to prepare them as much as possible since they're traveling alone for the 1st time.
and the airlines are Air Canada to Air China...if that matters/helps
If everything is on the same reservation their bags will be checked through to Bangkok and all they have to do in Vancouver is walk from their arrival gate to their departure gate.
