Main Terminal / Concourses at Warsaw Fryderyk Chopin WAW Airport
The present passenger terminal complex at Warsaw Airport now consists of one terminal - Terminal A (the former T1 & T2 terminals) - divided into five check-in areas A through E, and at present into North, Central & South Piers. While the South Pier is serving mostly low-cost airlines along with SkyTeam members & some other carriers, the new and much larger North Pier handles Star Alliance & OneWorld members & some other airlines. Alltogether Terminal A has 100 check-in desks, another 14 without conveyor belt access, 2 for oversized baggage and 8 self-check-in kioks without conveyor belt access.
Terminal A has three levels:
Level 1 is the Arrivals level with baggage claim - note tat improved baggage handling time was cut in half due to the Airport's efforts to make improvements.
Level 2 is the Departures level with ticketing and check-in desks and access to the gate area; Gates 1-24 are to the right, and gates 25-37 are to the left.
The Mezzanine level houses airline offices and customs clearance.
Amenities and services in the passenger terminal include Information center, self-check-in booths, food & drink, retail & duty-free concessions; banking facilities, conference rooms, free WiFi access, a chapel, and more. Playgrounds are located in the Schengen zone between gates B20 & B21, and in the non-Schengen zone between gates A2 & A25.
NOTE:
1. Low-cost airline passengers - check with your airline to make sure where it will depart from (Wizz & some Ryanair flights started mid-July to switch over to the Modlin Airport - 35 km north of Warsaw.
2. The old part of Terminal A is being completely overhauled and will be connected to the new part of the terminal by late 2014.
