Good afternoon, I booked a flight with Scandinavian from Amsterdam (layover in Copenhagen) arriving on the 5th of May at 15:00 in Dulles terminal 3. I have booked a separate ticket with United (mesa operating as United Express) to Austin departing at 17:20. How does the process work, I have to go through pasport control first, then pick up luggage, through customs, take the train to different terminal (which terminal is Mesa? and how long is the train ride) and then check in the luggage again? Do you think I have enough time for the transit? I am very scared I won't, hope someone could inform me., Thanks!

Dulles only has one terminal. You will arrive and be brought to the International Arrivals building where you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, and go through US Customs. Then you will take your bags to the United check-in desk in the adjacent main terminal building and check them with United, then go through security and take the Aerotrain or mobile lounge to your departure gate in the C/D concourse. I think you will have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Thank you so much for your answer and explanation. I really appreciate it!

hi Following is the flight connections Flight 8930: SFO to IAD arrives Thu 4:44p, Flight 8802: IAD to Brussels departs Thu 5:50p. I have 1h 06m transfer time. Both the flights are by Brussels Airlines, and I bought as a single ticket Is this possible the check-in luggage make it thru to the destination ? I already got a confirmed that I ll have enough time make it thru in-person, but I m wondering will the check-in luggage make it thru too to the destination? Thanks Kumaran

Both flights will be operated by United Airlines. Yes, you and your baggage should have plenty of time.

Thanks , will they automatically transfer the luggage or I need to collect it and re-check in them again ?

You do not have to do anything with your baggage, just walk from your arrival gate to you departure gate which will both by on the C/D concourse.

    Thank you very much :)
