Do you know what concourse this flight is likely to leave from?
I am returning from Tokyo to Dulles and then to Boston. Have 1 hr 45 mins connection to Boston. Being the first port of call from my understanding i have to go through custom. Do i need to go to security too. How do i go about going through custom and rechecking in my baggage. Please advice.
Yes, in Dulles you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags a the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. You have enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Thanks for the info. After rechecking the baggage, do we exit like everyone then go to departure lounge and then go thru security. Or is there a special exit for transit passengers
I'll be arriving from narita and connecting to go to Rhode Island via same airlines.. but only have an hour connecting.. is there enough time?
No, an hour is insufficient time for an international to domestic connection at IAD.
I travelled on 2/6 from Bangalore-Doha-Washington-Charlotte. All in one ticket / booking. Beggages are booked till Charlotte. But, I still had to claim baggages and do teh custome,, security etc and checked in the baggages again for AA flight.
Question is - why I had to claim n rechecked in my baggage even though its booked til Charlotte?
Note - I had same travel itinerary in Dec'16 Hyderabad-Abu Dhabi-JFK-Charlotte, there I didnt had to claim baggages.
So why here?
You have to claim your bags to take them through US Customs since Washington is your point of entry. You have to do this at your point of entry in EVERY airport in the United States. In December 2016 you pre-cleared US Immigration and Customs in Abu Dhabi, so that was your point of entry.
Thank you !!!
Trying to book a return from Riyadh thru IAD with Saudia arrival at 1220pm. Connect flight is Delta to ATL. Unable to book DL leaving at 1445. Being bumped in the booking process to later DL around 1700 depart time from IAD. Anyone can share conx time in IAD for inbound intl flights?
The 1700 departure is the best option if you're only considering DL.
Thank you. Made a change to CDG conx instead for the lower fare.
Is is possible to travel from one terminal to another in IAD without leaving security? I have an Admirals Club membership bur a lay-over with United/Luftansa and would like to use the IAD Admirals club.
There is no admirals club at IAD. Also, IAD only has one terminal.
We are flying domestic from LAX to IAD, then connecting to a flight to Ottawa, Ontario. Where do we go through passport screening?
You will go through Canadian immigration and customs when you get to Ottawa. There is no US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US.
Flying into IAD (Washington) from SAV (Savannah) at 21:10 and then to YYZ (Toronto) at 22:18. Is that enough time (with checked luggage)?
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do in IAD is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Hi there. I will be landing on United from Cancun at 16:20 and connecting onto South African Airways (SAA) to Johannesburg at 17:40. I do not have any checked luggage and will have my boarding pass for SAA already printed. Must I still go through customs/immigration control, or can I go directly to my SAA gate once I land in IAD? Will I have enough time? Thanks.
Have a flight from JFK to IAD arriving at 2:14pm on a Sunday (with JetBlue). I have an international flight departing later that day at 6:30pm (separate reservations). Is this enough time based on any likely delays etc to collect bags, exit Arrivals, go to Departures and check-in bags and go through security again? thanks!
Yes, that should be enough time.
