i'm going from Pittsburgh to Dulles and then to Peking airport in China.

I have 1 hour 14 min to transfer at Dulles, would this be enough time? I don't know what I gates I would be using, but flight from Pitt to Dulles and from Dulles to Peking are United 6110 Operated by /MESA AIRLINES DBA UNITED EXPRESS and United 807
Yes, that is enough time. Both flights will likely be on the C/D concourse. All you have to do in IAD is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
I am traveling from Chicago into IAD at 4:18pm, and will be departing from IAD to Rome at 5:20pm. Is this enough time to catch my flight to Rome?
Yes, that is plenty of time. if both flights are on United then all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Flying out of IAD to Vic Falls, Zimbabwe, with an 80-minute layover in Addis. Is that enough time? (Will we have to go through customs/get our bags in Addis?)
Are both flights on the same reservation? If so that is enough time in IAD.
We're a couple flying from Cancun (Mexico) to Geneva (Switzerland) and we have 1hour and 10min to get our next flight...
Do we have to get our bags back and check them in again?
If we have biometric passport is it quicker to go through immigration?
What are the probability we will/will not make it?
And in the case we dont make it because it's too crowded (and not because of weather conditions or othre type of delays) does united book us on the next flight for free/pay for the hotel?
Thanks for your feedbacks
Yes, you have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate. If you are a repeat ESTA user then you can use the Automated immigration kiosks, but just having a biometric passport doesn't get you anything. If your flight is delayed due to weather than United won't pay for your hotel. This is a very difficult connection.
Hello. We are flying in to IAD from LHR on December 31 and land at 3:50pm. We will have checked bags. We are planning to fly home to JAX on a separate airline, potentially United (direct flight of 2 hours) versus Delta/American (4 hours). How much time is enough to get through customs/immigration, (we have our interview for global entry/tsa precheck this week so we believe we will have the global entry pass by then), and recheck our bags. We will be flying first class in on VA and likely first class out on the next flight (not sure if that makes any difference or not). There are basically a few 6pm flights and then a 10pm flight. Any assistance is appreciated. Thank you so much for any advice you are willing to provide!!
Is 1 hour 30 min layover at IAD enough? I will be flying from Haneda, japan to IAD (ANA) then transfer to Ottawa (UA) . Only carry-on bags.
Yes, that should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Is 1 hour 38 min layover at IAD enough? I would be travelling from Detroit to IAD (United) and leave for Istanbul (Turkish). Do I have to check out my baggage at IAD and check in again?
If both tickets are on the same reservation you don't have to do anything with your bags at IAD. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.
Thank you. That is helpful.
Im flying in from UK, with a 4 hour layover. My next flight is to LAX. I have a green card but ill have to go through customs since its the first flight into usa. Will I have enough time to go into the city and see anything?
No, that is not enough time. You will only have about an hour to spare and IAD is over an hour from anything worth seeing.
Please help. Which would be the best route to take?

London Heathrow to Frankfurt then on to Orlando International

or

London Heathrow to Washington DC then on to Orlando International

What layover time would you suggest for each option?

Thanks in advance for any help given.
Frankfurt will be easier - all you will have to do in Frankfurt is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate if both flights are on the same reservation.
Thank you, that is very helpful. How long would you suggest for the layover in Frankfurt. There will be 9 of us travelling, 5 of which are children aged between 9 and 13? The flights will all be with United airlines.
90 minutes or more would be ideal, but a little less is fine.
Also, note that if you connect in Frankfurt both flights will actually be on Lufthansa.
Thank you so much for your help.
Hi how long would you suggest for a layover if travelling from London (heathrow) to Washington Dulles before travelling onto Washinton with United Airlines
Do you mean taking another flight to Washington the state (ie Seattle) or taking a car into the city of Washington DC? If making a connection to another flight I recommend 90 minutes if both flights are on the same reservation and 3 hours if they are not.
Sorry, that should have been London Heathrow onto Washington DC with a layover before going onto Orlando International, all flights will be with the same airline. Would you still suggest a 90 minute layover? Thank you for your help.
Yes, that is just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Thank you for your help.
