1 hour connection in IAD, by UnitedDec 19, 201221Hi! Flying from London with United – Flights 923, arriving Sat 11:15, I have only 1:05 time to catch next flight to Houston with United – Flights 634. What are my chances to do this connection, to catch my Texas plane? To do so is crucial, as there is a next flight United – Flights 1083 (there will be 3hrs connection time but I dont see any later flight to Houston)ZBePbposted on Tue, Dec 18[ Reply ][ Like ]1. On arrival at IAD, follow signs 'TO BAGGAGE CLAIM / GROUND TRANSPORTATION'; international arrivals will board the shuttle to US Customs located in the Arrivals Building at the west end of the Main Terminal (go through passport check, retrieve bags, go through customs clearance, then re-check-in bag where indicated. International arrivals who continue their journey cannot use the AeroTrain, but need to take the shuttle bus to their connecting gate. 2. United uses A/B, & C/D Midfield Concourses with corresponding gates. One hour is extremely tight, particularly at this time of year. I suggest you open www.ifly.com/iad then click on 'Terminal Map' under QUICK LINKS and scroll down to the detailed text.wedec12posted on Wed, Dec 191 person likes this post [ Like ]

overnight in IADJan 29, 201220We are arriving at IAD from YOW at 9 PM on UA5959 and not departing until 6 AM on UA998 for IAH, then RTB, meaning overnighting in IAD. Are any restaurants open overnight? Also, will we need to receive and recheck bags because of different days or drag them around all night? Thx!khposted on Sun, Jan 291. At YOW make sure your bags show stopover and end destination on their ticket. As both flights are on United, your bags will automatically be transferred to your connecting flight. 2. Presuming YOW has U.S. customs preclearance, you will be free to proceed to your next flight. However, if they don't, you will be transported to the west end of of the innternational terminal for customs clearance, where you need to retrieve your bags, go through customs & re-check-in your bags for connecting flight. 4. United uses C & D gates - C gates C30-17, with a walkway to C14-1, and D gates D1-29 - D gates are not served by Aerotrain, but by a shuttle bus to the main Terminal. 5. As to restaurants - your best bet is to inquire at the Information booth or ask attendants, which of the numerous restaurants is open after hours. United Red Carpet Club, by the way, has lounges at gates C7, C17, D8. (no on-airport hotels).1039posted on Sun, Jan 29
