On Mon, May 1, I'm set to arrive on a UA flight from Paris at 2:50 pm. My flight to Denver is also UA, leaving at 4:15 (total layover is 1 hour 25 min).Is this enough time to clear customs? I will likely have 1 checked bag. I am a US citizen.

Hi, I am travelling from Toronto (YYZ) to Kigali (KGL) transiting through Washington (IAD) we arrive IAD on an air Canada flight 09:15 and depart on an Ethiopian airlines flight at 10:00 will 45minutes be enough time? We are not US citizens. Thank you

You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Toronto. however, that is still barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.

  • Connecting with a wheelchair

My original flight With United from DTW to Newark -Belfast Ireland on Feb 15th was cancelled so they rebooked me through IAD. The connecting time is 2 hours and I am traveling with my special needs daughter who is in her wheelchair. Connecting time on return is 1.5 hours. I'm very concerned that this is not enough time either way for my to navigate this airport pushing a wheelchair.

That is plenty of time on the way to Europe. On the way back it's a bit more difficult.

I land in terminal A and depart terminal C. The connection time is 53 minutes. Provided my initial flight is on time, is 53 minutes adequate to make the next flight? Do I have to pass through security?

A and C are just concourses not terminals and they are connected inside security. If your first flight is domestic that is enough time.

Hello, In May, I will be flying from Narita to IAD on ANA. It will arrives at 10:40 am and leave for RDU on United at 12:30 pm. So, I got about 1 hr 50 min between connection. Tickets are on 1 reservation. Does this seems like enough time to get through immigration and everything to make a connection? Thank you

That should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.

Hi, for a flight (united airlines) from Brazil to England but with connection at IAD, do I need to take my luggage and dispatch / do immigration again or just change flights?

Arriving in Dulles from Austin w/ United (terminal D), connecting to a SAS flight for Copenhagen (terminal B). Is 1hr enough time? We're bot US citizens and flying first class. It's Saturday mid afternoon (4pm landing, 5:15pm departure for CPH). thanks!

Yes, that is enough time if the flight from Austin is on-time. You can just go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. There is a shuttle that connects them inside security.

I am travelling from Dublin to IAD next week, but due to unforeseen circumstances I no have to travel to Erie but ORD so have to book a separate flight. I will do ore clearance in Dublin, but unsure how long I should leave between flights from IAD to ORD. As I will have to get my luggage and go through security again.

I would want at least 2 hours.

I have a flight later this year arriving from FRA on United at 20:00 and departing, again on UA at 22:00 to ROC. With passport control/customs, baggage recheck, time of day, does 2 hours sound like enough time

Yes, it should be enough time if the flight from Frankfurt is on-time.

I've got a Sunday afternoon flight upcoming all through United from London Heathrow, through IAD, and then to RDU (or GSO, but most likely RDU). Got a scheduled layover of 1h 30m, would that be enough to get through customs if I'm not checking/claiming any bags?

Yes, that should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.

We will be arriving on ANA from Narita - but departing on domestic from Terminal D to Orlando (I believe)- how is the process, time and experience of the transfer and immigration? (ATL last trip was a breeze - and very helpful ground staff).

You will arrive and be bussed to the International Arrivals Building where you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and take the AeroTrain or mobile lounge to your departure gate in C or D.

I'm considering flying United from London to New Orleans via IAD on a single reservation, but there's only an hour and forty minutes between the scheduled arrival and departure times. Is that enough time to clear immigration, get bags, clear customs, recheck bags, and make the connection?

Yes, that is enough time if everything goes smoothly.

  • Connection time from YUL to AUS: 90 min

Hi, my mother (senior) travels from Montreal YUL to AUS, connecting in IAD, connection time of 90 min. Is it enough time? Does she have to get her luggage and register it again? Does she have to change terminals? She's flying United Airlines on both flights. Thank you

She will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Montreal. She won't have to do anything with her bags in IAD. All she has to do in IAD is go from her arrival gate to her departure gate.
