Yes, that should be enough time assuming both flights are on United and you purchased your tickets together.

    Thank you

  • Connecting UAL-Austrian at IAD

I am booked to VIE connecting at IAD from UAL to Austrian; inbound domestic flight has changed (by UAL) from 1:01 connect time to 0:41 connect time. I will have one checked bag. Can I make the connection; will bag?

It's possible but leaves no time to spare if the first flight is delayed. Especially if your United flight arrives in the C or D concourse (most of them do). Austrian departs from the B concourse.

Thanks, Zap. That's what I thought.

We will be arriving at A2 at 7am as scheduled. Then connecting to C12 at 8:55am. With baggage claim and all do we have enough time? Will there be security as well?

Where are you coming from? Can you describe your entire itinerary? If both flights are on United and you are connecting in IAD and going to HNL then you won't have to claim your bags or go through security.

Coming from YYZ; flight is UA3802. I just checked our itinerary and terminal is now in D30 (arrival) and departure at D5. What are the odds of this changing again? I wanna be prepared because i have a 5 month old baby with me.

When are you traveling? All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. You will have plenty of time.

Coming from YYZ UA3803. Then connecting UA145

    At 3am tomorrow--Sunday

I am arriving to IAD at 1525 from DOH on QR/AA code share flight. I have a connection on a pure AA flight to MIA departing at 1720. To (from) what terminal(s) will I arrive (depart) and do I have enough time for the connection.

IAD only has one Terminal. After arrival you will be taken to the International Arrivals Building where you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the transfer desk, then go through security and take the Aerotrain to Concourse B. You should have enough time.

Hi I am going to take Air China from Beijing to IAD, and I will arrive IAD around 14:35. Then I need to pass the customs because I hold a foreign country passport and pick up my baggages. Then I need to transfer by United Airline from IAD to CVG, the departure time is 17:19. So the time I have between transfer is 2hr 44min. So are Air China and United Airline in same terminal? If they are, which terminal it is? And do I have enough time to be able to transfer?

IAD only has one Terminal. You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, and re-check your bags in the International Arrivals Building, which is an annex of the main Terminal, Then you will go through security and take the AeroTrain or mobile lounge to your departure concourse, A, C, or D. You have enough time.

Hello guys, I am flying British airways from London to Dulles on a direct flight... Additionally, I have purchased a separate ticket that will take me to Orlando that is taking off two hours after my arrival at Dulles. I am traveling with a hand language that I don't need to go to baggage claim. Both flights are not connecting but it's same airport...firstly, do I still have to go through customs, security and immigration of I just proceed to the gate that I will board for Orlando from Dulles after arriving.

Must Clear customs and then connect to domestic flight

Yes, you will still have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security. You can check in online for your flight to Orlando before you leave London to save some time.

If I arrive on United at 3:58 PM and depart on BA at 6:30 PM on separate tickets, so I have to collect luggage, exit, check in and go through security, is this enough time or would it be better to take an earlier United flight?

Where are you connecting and where are you coming from?

My flight starts in LAX, then I fly to IAD on United where I change to a BA flight from IAD to LHR. I will have checked luggage. I have separate tickets so I understand that I cannot check my luggage from LAX directly to LHR.

That is correct. Assuming your flight from LAX is on-time you should have enough time to go to the main terminal, claim your bags, re-check them with BA, and go through security and to your departure gate.

Hi am looking at international flight with united CLT-IAD-FRA transit time is 1h10 minutes with both CLT to IAD and IAD to FRA with United. I am traveling on a foreign passport with 2 checked in baggages, The. 1h 10 minutes seems short to me is this possible? How long it takes to walk from one concourse to other? Do I need to go through Security? Please help

You will not have to go through security in IAD. Both of your flights will likely be on the C/D concourse, which is just one long building. there's a chance you will arrive in A, which is connected to C and D by the aerotrain and mobile lounge, which run frequently and inside security.

Thanks for data, would 1 hour 10 mins be good enough time to reach from A to c or D?

Yes, that should be plenty of time.

I'm flying from CRW charleston wv to IAD. Arriving at 11:34. My connection to Chicago is at 12:14. Will I have enough time to make my connection? Which Concourse will I arrive and leave out of. Flying united airlines.

You will probably arrive in concourse A or D and depart from concourse C or D. C and D are just two sides of the same building. A is connected to C and D by the mobile lounge and aerotrain. You have enough time if your flight from CRW is on-time.

Hello. I have just had my flights changed by United. I am flying Knoxville to Washington for a connecting flight on to London. The layover I now have in Dulles has been shortened to 103 minutes, please can you tell me if this is enough time as I have to change gates probably from C to A. Many thanks for your help!

That should still be plenty of time

I'm travelling from SJo to IAD and from there to LHR and have a 1h40' layover time in IAD. However I need to go through costums and recheck my bags (right?) although I'm just transfering through the US and not leaving the airport. Will that be enough time? I once had to wait 3 hours at JFK immigrations, so I' m a litte worried!

That should be enough time. IAD is a fairly efficient airport for International connections by US Stanards

i have a 56 min layover from CLE - IAD- PUJ flying united. Will I have enough time? Do I have to go through security and customs all in 56 min at IAD?

You do not go through US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in IAD on your way to PUJ is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You could arrive in A, C, or D and will depart from C or D. C and D are just two sides of the same building. A is connected to them with the mobile lounge and aerotrain. You have enough time if your first flight is on-time.

We will be arriving IAD from CLE, going to FRA with only a 50 min connection with United. Any advice on gates, terminals and transfer time? Thanks so much!
