Montreal - IAD - Punta CanaMay 18, 201310we are a family of 4 flying from Montreal, Canada (YUL) to Punta Cana through Washington Dulles airport on July 21. Our YUL to IAD flight (#3475 by United Airlines) arrives at 7:48am. Second flight from IAD to Punta Cana (PUJ) (flight # 1661) departs at 8:53am. We practically have an hour to change the planes. How soon can I get info on Gate locations from United Airlines? Can I consider these 2 flights international? If yes, then I understand we do not have to claim our baggage and go through the customs. Am I right about this? Will one hour be enough for us to connect to our flight to Punta Cana? Thanks in advance***posted on Fri, May 17It is suggested that you arrive at YUL 3 hours prior to departure. You go through U.S. customs procedure at YUL, saving you time on arrival at IAD. Presuming that your connecting flight is also via United, your baggage will automatically be transferred at IAD. At IAD, United uses Concourses A, B, C & D with corresponding gates. The AeroTrain connects Concourses A, B & C, while C gates are connected by moving walkway to the D gates. One hour should suffice.samay13posted on Sat, May 18

CostumesMay 17, 201310I will be flying from Panama (pty) to Dulles and the connecting Dulles- Rome on saturday 18th. I have 2 hours from one flight to the next. Since both are international flights I have to go through costumes in Dulles, pick up my bags and drop them off for connecting flights. Do you think Ill have time? Do I have to go through TSA security point as well?dmgposted on Thu, May 16At IAD, all international arrivals are being transported to the International Arrivals Building at the west end of the main terminal for TSA clearance: You need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag. Therefore, you cannot use the AeroTrain, but need to take the Mobile Lounge shutttle to either gates D1-32 and H-gates. D & C gates are connected, for A & B gates you need to take the AeroTrain. No security check needed. Two hours transfer time will be enough.frmay13posted on Fri, May 17

Catching qatar flightMay 16, 201310I have to travel from atlanta and catch qatar flight ar 11pm.can somebody guide me asto how to checking my luggage at iadNarendraposted on Thu, May 16So you're buying two separate tickets? It's quite simple, you book a flight that is scheduled to get into IAD before 8:30 PM, then when you arrive, go to the baggage claim in the main terminal, then when you get your baggage, take it upstairs to the departure level and the Qatar Airlines counter.ZAPposted on Thu, May 16

Connecting flight questionMay 12, 201310I am flying to IAD on a United flight arriving around 9:00 p.m. I believe this arrives in terminal D. I am flying out of IAD on Qatar Airways 10:50 p.m. (a little less than 2 hours). I believe Qatar flies out of the main terminal, but couldn't confirm this. What is the best way to get to my connecting flight? Will I have to go through security again in the main terminal? Is slightly less than 2 hours enough time. It looks like the United flight to IAD is on time only 60% of the time.AMSposted on Sun, May 12If arriving at the Midfield Concourse C/D, at D gates, you need to take the shuttle bus to the Main Terminal, as D gates are not served by the AeroTrain. Note that United uses A, C & D gates. If arriving at A gates, you can walk to the main terminal, at C gates take the AeroTrain. For daily arrivals/ departures open http://www.metwashairports.com/net/iaddepartures.aspx?t=dd Under gate column 'IAB' means Internatinal Arrivals Building (attached to Main building.sumay13posted on Sun, May 12

Terminal and Check In Questions.May 6, 201330I arrive in Washington( IAD) at 9:10 pm. My connecting flight is to san fran(SFO) and leaves at 10:15pm. Both Flights are with United Airlines. Will that be enough time to do what I need to do? Also what terminal does United Airlines operate out of? Will I have to get to another terminal to get on my connecting flight? Also Do I have to chexk in and go through security again once I get to IAD or just go straight to my terminal and find my gate? Do gates usually change with less than an hours time? I am a first time flyer with connections and I am a little worried and I am trying to get all the info I can before I leave. Thank you so much!!LindseyHardyposted on Mon, May 6Is your flight into IAD Domestic or International. If it's domestic you'll just have to walk between your gates on the C/D concourse if you are on United mainline and possibly the A concourse if you're on United Express (where you'll have to take the Aerotrain or shuttle bus to C/D) Either way you won't have to go through security again.ZAPposted on Mon, May 6My first flight is from Atlanta to Washington. Its like a united Express flight. So I will more than likely have to take the shuttle bus or aerotrain. Are those things hard to find? Where are they located were I can get on and off of them?LindseyHardyposted on Mon, May 6

arriving in united 3864May 4, 201320Your arrivals & departures gates are in different Midfield Concourse buildings. On arrival, look for the AeroTrain sign and take it to the next & last station, then follow signs to the C gates. The train make its continuous rounds, taking minutes. You should be able to make it on time.samay13posted on Sat, May 4

Connecting timeMay 3, 201311I am arriving from Newark at IAD on UA4269 at 11:35 am on May 5, departing to Beijing on UA897 at 12:15 pm. Does anyone has idea or experience that 40 minute connecting time is enough? Thanks!Johnposted on Thu, May 21 person likes this post [ Like ]you will have to hope very hard that your first flight is on-time. Usually that flight will arrive into the A concourse at IAD which requires you to take the Aerotrain from A to C, but some days like today, that flight arrives in C. Regardless, you'll have to hurry.ZAPposted on Fri, May 3

Brussels Airlines ConnectionApr 28, 201320We're flying to Brussels for our honeymoon on Brussels Airlines new service from IAD on 8/5/2013. I'm flying out of Boston and connecting through IAD to Brussels. I arrive in IAD at 4:25 (Brussels flight 8834) and leave at 5:40 (Brussels flight 8802), which gives me 1:15 to connect. Since Brussels Airlines doesn't even start their service from IAD to BRU until June, I'm having a really hard time finding any information. I want to make sure we don't get stranded on the first leg of our honeymoon! It says "operated by United", but not sure what that means... thanks for any help!Coesy_Dposted on Sat, Apr 27Your flight is most likely by United Airlines, code-sharing with the new Brussels Airline after June. Your connecting time should suffice.saapr13posted on Sat, Apr 27

Connecting flight with checking bags in!Apr 26, 201311Hi guys, I just purchased a ticket from IAD to turkey by turkish air and I live in Orlando, so I need to buy a seprate ticket from orlando to washington. I just found a Delta flight witch will be arrived in washington at 9:35, my flight to turkey is 11:30, first I have 2 big luggages, witch i have to check them in, plus two carry on, so since I'm alone, is there any cart for me to take them from terminal A to C? or is anybody there to help me? second, is 2 hours enough for going from A to C n checking my luggages? Please help me, I'm so frustrated!***posted on Fri, Apr 26Are you sure it's on Delta? Delta does not fly nonstop from Orlando to IAD? Perhaps THAT flight also has a connection in Atlanta? You would not be taking your baggage from A to C. You will have to claim your baggage in the main terminal building and then re-check it. I recommend an earlier flight.ZAPposted on Fri, Apr 261 person likes this post [ Like ]
