Coming from a UA international flight connecting to a Delta domestic Do you have to leave security

At IAD, arriving passengers should follow signs 'TO BAGGAGE CLAIM / GROUND TRANSPORTATION'; international arrivals will board the shuttle to the International Arrivals Building at the west end of the main terminal for TSA clearance. Unless you have gone through US customs clearance by participating airports, you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag (the tag should indicate layover and final destination Airport Codes). Allow for plenty of time if you need to transfer to another flight. International arrivals who continue their journey cannot use the AeroTrain, but need to take the shuttle bus to their connecting gate. Note also that United uses gates A, B,C & D - check your ticket and the overhead screens on arrival for your connecting gate number and time.

    1. Make sure UA will transfer your bags to Delta - if not you need to take them after customs clearance to the Delta check-in counter before proceeding to Delta's Concourse B with B gates. 2. All international arrivals at IAD are being transported to the International Arrivals Building at the west end of the main terminal for TSA clearance. International arrivals who continue their journey cannot use the AeroTrain, but need to take the shuttle bus to their connecting gate.

my united express flight lands at IAD, with only a 30 minute layover, before flight to SF from gate C17. at which gate does flight 3773 usually arrive (mesa airlines/united express)? thanks

IAD has no flight 3773 listing today; it also only lists "United" flights, no United Express or Mesa. United uses concourses A, B, C & D with corresponding gates. If you need to transfer to another concourse, read up on transfer options at ifly.com/iad - clicking on QUICK LINKS's "Terminal Map" & scrolling down to details. (Your ticket should indicate Concourse & gate number.

I only have :45 min between flights. Or is ground service or tram quicker? Thanks So Very Much!

Midfield Concourse C / D has C gates and D gates on opposite sides of the center - C gates C1-30 & D gates D1-32 are connected by a walkway. You have enough time.

One of the least inviting clubs. Small, with limited staff and amenities. Quiet, to a fault. We left and went downstairs to the terminal for a drink.

One of the dreariest clubs I've visited. Small, limited amenities, minimal staff. Quiet as a tomb on a recent Saturday afternoon. We left and went downstairs to the terminal for some activity.

  • International to International Transfer

Hi I will arriving on an international flight from Europe and depart on a direct united flight to Toronto-YYZ. I will have go through passport control but bags will be transferred automatically to next flight or I need to collect, go through customs and then recheck bags. Unfortunately, IAD website does not touch International to International transfers at IAD.

Regardless, whether you connect to domestic or international airports, all international arrivals at IAD are being transported to the International Arrivals Building at the west end of the main terminal for TSA clearance.

    Going to iad tomorrow!

HI GUYS I am flying from MSY to IAD. There I have a 1 hour and 22 minutes wait will I be able to catch my flight to Vienna which is in terminal B. How can I connect between D and B terminals.

    Try this...

    Try this...

    or this...

You arrive at Terminal D - D gates D1-32 are presently not served by the Aerotrain - you need to take the shuttle bus departing near gate D11 & Starbucks, to the main Terminal and either use the Aerotrain making its first stop in the center of Concourses A/B (B gates are B35-79), or use the walkway to Concourse A/B - Your the is adequate.

  • Connection Vegas - Dulles - Frankfurt

I'm passing Dulles Airport on 2 May via a connection flight from Las Vegas with UA661 via Dulles (arriving 21.10pm) to Frankfurt. Departure time is 21.51pm with UA932 to Frankfurt. I'm a bit nervous regarding the short stop over of only 40 minutes. Is this enough for the change and how will this be handled via which terminal/gates? Is this easy doing or to short to exchange? many thanks for your help

United uses B, C & D Midfield Concourses. While you can take the underground AeroTrain from B to C Concourses, only a shuttle bus serves Concourse D. On arrival, follow signs. Look at your ticket (or on arrival at overhead screens to find your departing gate: B gates: B63-79; C gates C30-17 and C14-1 reached thereafter by walkway. NOTE: Gates C1-30 and D1-32 are connected by walkway.
