Flying business class on KLM out of AMS arriving IAD at 335PM. My departing flight is in first class on United from IAD to RDU is at 514PM. I will have a checked bag. I have Global Entry. Is this enough time?
With global entry and being first off the plane, you should have barely enough time. Check in online for your United flight before leaving Amsterdam.
hi. I'm traviling from Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) to Ottawa ( one reservation)my flight plane as: -from Jeddah to IAD by Saudi Airline -from IAD to Ottawa by Air Canada (operated by united express/mesa. ). What's the transfer process? Does I need to pick up my bags?
You will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and to your departure gate.
I'm flying in on American from Sao Paolo, Brazil and will land with just under 2 hours between flights. Will that be enough time to go through passport control, p/u my checked luggage, go through customs and still make my next flight?
American doesn't fly from Sao Paulo to Washington DC. Please double check your reservation.
Hi, I'm flying to San Fran with United through IAD from Barcelona. It doesn't say which terminal in IAD. I arrive at 14.15 and leave for my connection flight at 16.30. Will I have enough time to go through security? My nationality is Irish and I have flights booked to leave 10 days later.
IAD only has one terminal. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate at IAD. You have plenty of time. Both flights will be on the C/D concourse.
Hi, I got a flight from Beijing to IAD landed at 14:25; and then a flight from IAD to Toronto leave at 17:05 (not connected flights). What's the transfer process? Is the time enough?
You will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then take your bags to the check-in desk for your airline to Toronto, then go through security and to your departure gate.
My daughter is flying to Barcellona on United. First leg is SFO to IAD. What is the procedure to connect? Does she need to pick up her bags first or are they checked through? Will she need to go through security again to get to the International gate for United?
All she has to do in IAD on her way to Barcelona is walk from her arrival gate to her departure gate. No procedures.
thanks - yes its easy. Bags are checked straight through
I have a United flight from Montreal arriving here at Washington with a 45 minute layover to get to my next United flight to go to Denver, Colorado. I've heard that if both your flights are United that going through customs shouldn't be a problem... is this true? Is 45 minutes enough time? Thank you!!
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Montreal. All you have to do in IAD is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.
Hi guys, my friend and i will be traveling internationally on our own to Thailand for the first time this december and I am about to book the flight. Last time i traveled with family i remember just making the connections from plane to plane but i read somewhere that in IAD you have to claim your checked bags and have them re check??? our layover time i IAD to get to another terminal to go to Narita is only 55 minutes... we are usually very quick people and if i have one doubt ill just find the nearest air employee .. but this kinda doubting if we will be able to make it time for the connecting flight? unless Im not understanding something
If both flights are on the same reservation and the flight into IAD is domestic you don't have to do anything with your bags in IAD on the way to Asia. You just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
