Arriving Terminal A 2 at 9:16pm, need to make connecting flight at D 20 by 9:50pm. Fastest way and will we miss connecting flight?
The mobile lounge. you have just enough time if everything goes perfectly.
Hi, I'm flying from Detroit with United through IAD to Munich. The time between filghts is 1h23m . Will I have enough time to make the connection?
Thanks
Yes, that is enough time if the first flight is on-time.
I will be traveling on Lufthansa from Frankfurt to Dulles, connecting with Southwest from IAD to Dallas, TX. We have global entry and will be traveling on Business. Flight on Lufthansa arrives IAD at 3:55p, and flight on Southwest leaves at 6:00p. Is this enough time?
That is barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.
Should I feel more comfortable if we're not checking bags?
They will be on separate tickets.
Yes, not checking bags will make it easier.
What is quickest way to change terminals
B is just a concourse. You can take the AeroTrain or Mobile Lounge or even walk, depending on where your United flight arrives (United uses A, C, and D).
Hi! My husband and I are flying from RDU-IAD-CUN and we have an hour to connect to our flight to CUN. We do not plan on checking any bags just because we know it will take more time. Should we make it? And also, if we do miss our flight, is United pretty good about trying to get us on the next flight? These may seem like silly questions, but we are not experienced flyers. Thank you!
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do in IAD on the way to Cancun is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, whether or not you have checked bags. United will get you on the next available flight, however, that may not be until the next day or require you to fly to Houston first.
Hello I was about to book a United flight from lisbon to toronto with a layover of an hour and a half at Washington Airport. Will the hour and a half be enough time to catch my flight to toronto?
Yes, that should be just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I am about to book a flight from LAX through Brussels that has me changing planes in Dulles.
There is only an hour and ten minutes to connect. Do I have to go through customs and security again if I am traveling on United for both flights? If so, will I make it? Here's the conneciton:

Layover 1h 10m stop
in Washington (IAD)
3:40pm
to
6:08pm
5h 28m
From Washington Dulles Intl. (IAD)
To Los Angeles Intl. (LAX)
United 894
Boeing 737-900 | Food For Purchase | 90 % on time
Economy/Coach (K)
So you're going BRU-IAD-LAX? If so only 70 minutes in IAD is probably not enough time. 70 minutes would be enough time on LAX-IAD-BRU since there is no US customs when leaving the US.
I will be on same airline -- United all the way through. I am told it makes a difference but folks could be wrong. I will check again. AR
Hi, will arrive on 17. Sept with OS 93 at 2:40 pm and thinking about to book an additional flight with UA 4777 at 5:21 pm to ORF. It this enough time doing immigration, checking in baggage again and catch the flight ? thanks
Yes, that should be enough time.
How much time do we need for flight connections for International to a domestic service. Flight is coming in from London and arriving at 14.35 (Virgin) and we want to take a flight to Charlotte with American Airlines from 17.00. Is this realistic?
That is barely enough time if everything goes smoothly.
We are arriving from Brussels to IAD and connecting to a united express to Austin. Will we have to claim bags and checkin again or will it be like going from united to United and just go to our departure gate?
Yes, you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. You do this because you are entering the US at IAD, not because the second flight is United Express.
I've seen some answers like this "IAD only has one terminal. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate at IAD. You have plenty of time. Both flights will be on the C/D concourse." so why would landing at IAD cause us to claim bags, etc. hopefully I don't sound petty. Just trying to understand the rules. Thank you.
