We're flying to Brussels for our honeymoon on Brussels Airlines new service from IAD on 8/5/2013. I'm flying out of Boston and connecting through IAD to Brussels. I arrive in IAD at 4:25 (Brussels flight 8834) and leave at 5:40 (Brussels flight 8802), which gives me 1:15 to connect. Since Brussels Airlines doesn't even start their service from IAD to BRU until June, I'm having a really hard time finding any information. I want to make sure we don't get stranded on the first leg of our honeymoon! It says "operated by United", but not sure what that means... thanks for any help!

Your flight is most likely by United Airlines, code-sharing with the new Brussels Airline after June. Your connecting time should suffice.

Actually, BOTH of your flights are operated by United Airlines as United 1715 BOS-IAD and United 950 IAD-BRU. Both flights will be in the C/D concourse so it should be a pretty easy connection.

  • Connecting flight with checking bags in!

Hi guys, I just purchased a ticket from IAD to turkey by turkish air and I live in Orlando, so I need to buy a seprate ticket from orlando to washington. I just found a Delta flight witch will be arrived in washington at 9:35, my flight to turkey is 11:30, first I have 2 big luggages, witch i have to check them in, plus two carry on, so since I'm alone, is there any cart for me to take them from terminal A to C? or is anybody there to help me? second, is 2 hours enough for going from A to C n checking my luggages? Please help me, I'm so frustrated!

Are you sure it's on Delta? Delta does not fly nonstop from Orlando to IAD? Perhaps THAT flight also has a connection in Atlanta? You would not be taking your baggage from A to C. You will have to claim your baggage in the main terminal building and then re-check it. I recommend an earlier flight.

(United) San Antonio - IAD - South Africa. Ninety minute layover Tuesday at 4:00 pm. Is that enough time. Do we have to go through TSA again

You will not have to go through security again. All gates at IAD are connected beyond security. You just have to take the Aerotrain from where you arrive (likely C) to B.

I am flying in to Frankfurt with Lufthansa and only have 1 hour to switch planes to a Lufthansa flight to Addis...is that enough time?

On arrival at ID, all incoming flights from the U.S. are being handled at Area A. After passport control, a tunnel connects Concourse A with Concourse B (Lufthansa uses both Concourses. Your time should suffice.

  • 1 hour to connect from D to B

Arrive D (United) at 8:55pm and need to get to Lufthansa Int'l flight at a B Gate. Enough time? Quickest route?

Fastest route is probably to take the shuttle from D to A and then walk to B. Hope that your first flight is on time and run.

  • 45mins Enugu?

Ua3725 from Ind, connection to Ua925 heathrow, is 45 mins enough? 9pm. Any advice?

If your first flight is on-time you will barely have enough time. If it's late you'll be spending the night in DC. Thankfully, the airport is pretty empty at that time.

  • Conneting flight to Atlanta+

We are planning a trip to Atlanta, going through customs at IAD. Arriving on United 7088 (Copa) and departing on United 3769 on Monday April 29th. There is only a 1:40 connection. Can we make it?

At IAD, all international arrivals are being transported to the International Arrivals Building at the west end of the main terminal for TSA clearance. There, you need to go through passport check, retrieve checked bags, go through customs clearance and - if transferring to another flight - re-check-in bag. Thereafter you need to board the shuttle bus to your connecting gate. You should be able to make it on time.

I am flying from Brussels on UA141, arriving at 2:50pm and have 1hr 40min layover to catch my flight to Denver on UA249 at 4:30pm. Is that going to be enough time to get through customs and catch the flight?

I have a 40 minute layover arriving from Boston flight 1693 to connect to 5688 to savannah. Do I have to change terminals

Probably. Your Boston flight will arrive in C/D and your Savannah flight will likely depart form A. However, you will not have to go through security again.

I am arriving at Dulles airport on USAIRWAYS and have a 1 hr connection to Ethiopian airlines to Addis. Is this enough time for me and my luggage to make the connection?

That's very close. You will arrive at the Z-gates and depart from B and have to take the train. If your first flight is on time you will have enough time though.

I am flying from Boston on UUA1455 Friday 26 April, arriving at 9:07pm and only have 1hr layover to catch my flight to Brazil on UA861 10:10pm. Is that going to be enough time to my connecting flight? Do I have to take the train?

You will both arrive and depart from concourse C/D - you will not have to take the train. If your first flight is on-time you will have enough time.

I am flying from Cancun on UA 1133 arriving at 8:12pm and only have 1hr 48min layover to catch my flight to Buffalo on UA 5705. Is that going to be enough time for me to get through customs, security, etc and make it to my connecting flight? I was told by expedia it was enough but I didn't have a very good experience with IAD last time I flew through there...

It should be enough time - Immigration won't be that busy that late in the evening.

I have a connecting flight on July5 from Houston to Beijing through IAD, The flight IAH- IAD UA321 arriving at 11:34am , and connect to UA897 to Beijing departing at 12:20pm, only 46 minutes layover. Is it enough time for me and the baggage? (checking baggage through to Beijing). Thank you.

If your first flight is on-time then it should be enough time. You will both arrive and depart in the C/D concourse so you can just walk between your gates.

  • 50mins connection to NRT

I'm frlying thru IAD. (UAX to UA intenational) first tie @ IAD for such a transfer. based on the thread here, it seems like my UAX will go into A and my departure would be C. is there an additional security check point toward international departure gates on this transfer? (some airports do have them)

There is no additional security check. Some UAX flights do use C (mainly larger regional jets).

Thx ZAP, as my screen name says, i'm flying from JAX and UAX is ERJ-145 with 2-1 array. so.. the chance is my flight will go into those smaller carrier section in A. my current connecting flight to NRT is the last flight of the day for UA. I wish this 50 mins would be enough.

I am flying Saturday April 20 DEN-IAD UA652 arriving at 9:00 p.m. connecting to UA932 to Frankfurt at 9:45 p.m. I'd hate to miss an international connection (i have no baggage). Is it likely that these two flights will be arriving and departing from the same terminal at IAD? What are the chances of a safe connection? Thanks, Sheryl

Yes. You will arrive and depart from C or D which are all connected.
