I'm travelling to South Africa in January 2017. I'm flying from Atlanta to IAD with United airlines (Domestic) and then I get on South African Airways to get from IAD to Cape Town (International.) I land at IAD at 4:16 pm at the domestic terminal. My flight to Cape Town leaves at 5:40 pm. That only gives me 1hr 24mins layover, is that enough time to get to international from domestic? Where do I have to go to get to the other terminal and do I have to go through security at IAD or in Atlanta?
There is no "domestic" and "International" terminals at IAD. You will go through security in Atlanta. If both flights are on the same reservation then all you have to do in IAD is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, which will likely be on different concourses but are connected inside security by the Aerotrain. You should have enough time if the flight from Atlanta is on-time.
What happens if both flights from Atlanta and from iAd to Cape Town are on different reservation?
Hi, We well arrive with SAS SK925 from CPH (3:15pm) on the 28th of November. We then have booked a separate ticket to fly with United to New Orleans (17:35.) I did this booking on the count of flydulles.com listing United as an airline I could do an internal transfer/easy luggage check in after customs with. Please can you confirm and tell me if this will be sufficient transit time?
That is enough time. You can ask the SAS agent in copenhagen to check your bags through to MSY by showing them your United confirmation. If they don't you will have to take your bags to the United check-in desk to re-check your bags in Dulles. Even if your bags are tagged through to MSY in Copenhagen you will still have to claim your bags in Dulles to go through US Customs.
I will be Arriving AA at 7:30 (Don't know terminals) and leaving on Lufthansa at 10:30 to Munich. I have to go to Lufthansa counter to check in. I'm not familiar with IAD. How far to walk, and will I have enough time to get from AA terminal to Lufthansa counter??? Please help
IAD only has one terminal. You should have enough time if your AA flight is on-time. It is not far from the baggage claim to the Lufthansa check-in counter.
From arrival in AA terminal at 7:30 to Lufthansa counter to check in, (departure 10:30) do I have to take a train, or just walk? And if walk, do I go up escalator? or is it on same floor. I am carrying my suitcase, so won't be at baggage claim area.
Hi there I'm coming from Riyadh on Saudi Airlines to IAD, and have a layover of 2 hours and 30 minutes, during which I need to catch another flight on United to Panama City (PTY) in Panama at 3:33 pm.. Is this layover time sufficient to go through the immigration control and then customs and collect my luggage and check it in at the other airlines desk, and then go through security again and make it to the flight? thanks in advance.
That will be very difficult. Everything has to go perfectly. Note that your flight to Panama City will be operated by Copa, not United, so check in at the Copa check-in desk.
