  • Connecting time for International -> Domestic enough?

Hello everyone, we (group of 4) booked a flight from Frankfurt (FRA) to Orlando (MCO) via Washington (IAD), and now the ladies are worried that the connection time (105 minutes) could be too short. Both flights are on United. Landing from FRA is scheduled for 08:05 PM on a friday evening. Departure to MCO is scheduled for 09:50 PM. What do you think? Do we really have to go through Immigration, customs, baggage claim, baggage drop-off and security? Sounds like a lot. Many thanks in advance, greetings from Germany

Yes, you have the procedure correct. You should have plenty of time. Immigration and security will not be crowded that late in the evening.

Thank you very much, thats a relief.

Is 80 minutes enough to transfer from FLL on United to BRU on Brussels Airlines? Thanks

If both tickets are bought together, then yes that should be enough time. United should be able to check your bags through to Brussels in FLL and all you have to do in IAD is take the Mobile Lounge or Aerotrain from C/D where you will arrive to B where you will depart.

Is 50 minutes enough time to go from Ottawa, Canada to Dulles going through customs? I have a connecting flight to Pittsburgh within that 50 mintue time span and not sure how long customs will tage.

You will pre-clear US Immigration in Ottawa. You will not have to go through customs at IAD. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

I am connecting in Dulles from Ottawa, Canada on May 9th, Flight United Airlines 5843 connecting to UA 1585 to Denver, CO. I have 1h58 minutes. Is that enough? I believe I go through US customs in Ottawa before departure.

Yes, that should be plenty of time. If you arrive in the A concourse you take the Aerotrain or Mobile Lounge to the C/D concourse where your Denver flight will depart. Yes, you will preclear US Immigration in Ottawa.

Is 55 minutes connection time enough to get from inbound from MCO to outbound to Heathrow? I don't know gates if inbound or outbound.

Yes, if both of your flights are on United then both flights will be in the C/D concourse.

  • Connect time for International Flight (Lufthansa) is 50 mins @ IAD

My flight connect time @ IAD is 50 minutes for the International Flight - Lufthansa. Route (Austin - Washington - Frankfurt - Bangalore). I am concerned if this time would be sufficient to make it ? What can be done to ensure i make it to transit quick,? Will you be able to share information on the terminal & pre-caution in case i run late. Appreciate any help to clarify. Flight Arrival (LH 9078) @ IAD - 9 PM (Apr 16) Flight Depart (LH 9238) @ IAD - 9:50 PM (Apr 16)

Both of your flights will be operated by United, not Lufthansa. All you have to do at IAD is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate and both will likely be on the C/D concourse. You should have enough time as long as your first flight is on-time. Since all you have to do in IAD is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, the only thing you can do to speed things along is run!

    :-) Thank You.

I'm flying London UK to Denver on United. The schedule gives a 1hr connection time at IAD. United say this is OK. Is it ???

No, if your connection time on LHR-IAD-DEN is only one hour then, no, that's not sufficient. You need at least 90 minutes. It would be sufficient on DEN-IAD-LHR.

We arrive at Dulles from Nashville at 3:56 on United 3400. Don't know the gate/concourse. Our connecting flight to Frankfurt on Lufthansa 9051 departs Dulles at 5:15. Again I don't know the gate/concourse. Will we have enough time to make our connection. What concourse does Lufthansa usually depart from?

You will likely arrive in the A concourse. Lufthansa flights depart from the B concourse. A and B are directly connected. If your first flight is on-time you should have enough time.

  • Domestic to International Transfer

Hi, I arrive on UA4801 from Roanoke to Dulles. Guess it arrives in Concourse D at 8.50PM. I have a flight to Abu Dhabi at 10.15PM from Gate A16. My bags are checked in straight to Abu Dhabi. Can I make it in time? Where do I get past passport control and security? Thanks.

You will not have to go through passport control until you get to Abu Dhabi. You will go through security in Roanoke and not have to in Washington Dulles. Concourses A and D are connected inside security by the Aerotrain and Mobile Lounge. However, your flight from Roanoke may arrive in concourse A, which would make your transfer even easier. You should have enough time.

Honolulu to Cleveland through connection @Dulles with 1hr between gates, will this be enough time?

Yes, that should be enough time. If your flight from Cleveland arrives in Concourse A, you take the Aerotrain or mobile lounge to concourse C/D where the Honolulu flight will depart. They are connected inside security.

  • LHR/RDU transfer at IAD

I arrive on UA 919 from LHR at 15:15 on a Sunday and need to transfer to UA 1719 to RDU which leaves at 17:00. Is this enough time and where do I need to go when I land?

Yes, this should be enough time. When you arrive you will be funneled into United's immigration facility in the C/D concourse. You will go through US Immigration, claim your checked bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, and then go through security and to your departure gate, which will also be on the C/D concourse.

I arrive from Manchester, UK next Saturday (4/12) and have 90 minutes to make a connection to Chicago (ORD) on United Express. The Manchester flight is also United. Is 90 minutes enough time?

Yes, that should be enough time. You will clear US Immigration in United's facility in the C/D concourse and then your departure to Chicago will likely be from there as well.

I am looking a United Flight - UA 5556 from New Orleans & going to Middletown Pa on United UA3334 with a stated connect time of 39 minutes. Is this feasible?

Yes, that would be possible if your first flight is on-time.
