I am flying from Austin to JHB -leaving from DC at 17:40 .will arriving from Austin at 1540 be enough time for the connection ?

Yes, if both flights are on the same reservation that is enough time.

It's 2 seperate reservations will that mean I check in again for international part ?

Hi, I am travelling from Doha to Charlotte NC via Dulles and will land in Dulles at 3:20 PM. Will I have sufficient time to catch a flight on American Airlines to Charlotte. I am flying in on Qatar Airways

I don't know if you have sufficient time because you didn't post when your flight to Charlotte departs.

I am a british citizen flying in from san juan in puerto rico. my connecting flight for durham nc has a 33minute window before jumping on ,y next flight. will this be enough or too short? thanks

should note hear that airport l change at is Washington dulles

It's possible. Both flights will likely be on the C/D Concourse. Obviously it leaves no time to spare if your flight from San Juan is delayed. All you have to do in IAD is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.

How often are the United flights in the same concourses? I am flying in May and only only have an hour layover so I was curious. I'd like to be able to get a bite to eat but don't know how close I'd be taking it.

All United mainline and some United Express flights (including all flights on CRJ-700's and Embraer E-175's) are on the C/D concourse. Some United Express flights using the ERJ-145 and Dash-8 use the A concourse.

Thanks for the info. I am on a ERJ on the way in when I have a layover in Newark but it's a CRJ for the layover in Dulles. That makes me feel better that they are probably in the same place at an unfamiliar airport. I've been to Newark once. Need to check out there map soon.

roughly the time it takes to get from gate a5c to gate d8 have a 1hr and 5 minute layover am I ggod

That should be enough time. You have to take the AeroTrain or mobile lounge. I guess it would probably take about 20 minutes.

Hi ! I'm landing in IAD at 3:10pm on a Wednesday, my connecting to Montreal is leaving at 5:05pm, which leaves me with 1:55 of time for the connection. I have heard that mid-day waiting time at the customs can be as long as 90 minutes. Do you think I will be able to make my connection ? (I'm a Canadian citizen with a Canadian passport)

I forgot to mention, both flights are on United

Yes, I think you will probably have enough time.

  • Albany to Toronto layover

I am flying in from Albany to catch a flight to Toronto but only have 50min from landing to take off. Is this possible?

Note that it's not landing to take-off. It's gate arrival to gate departure. Yes, that should be enough time if your flight from Albany is on-time. All gates at IAD are connected inside security.

domestic arrival at IAD and departure to Dublin, on United for both. Is 1hr 10min enough time? Any shuttle required?

Some United Express flights arrive in A, that requires a shuttle to get to C/D where you depart. Otherwise all you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

I am trying to schedule a flight and want to make sure there is time for the connection. Do you have to clear customs and recheck your bag if you are flying in from Toronto? If so is 1 hr and 30 min sufficient time?

You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in IAD is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have enough time.

Hi, I have a connecting flight coming from Brussels through Dulles to SFO. We only have 1h15 transit time with checkin luggage, arriving in IAD on a friday afternoon. Do you think we will have enough time to make it to the SFO outbound plane? All flights are with United. Thanks!

That's pretty difficult, but not impossible.

We are flying from Hawaii to IAD and then splitting in 2 parties. 1 party is going to Jetblue Boston, another Porter Toronto. Jetblue party does not have any check-in but Porter does. Will 2 hour connection time for Jetblue and 1.5 hour connection time for Porter be enough? thanks

That should be just enough time if the flight from Hawaii is on-time. The Porter group obviously has less leeway.

I am flying from Frankfurt to London with connection through Chicargo, both flight on United. The layover is 1 hour 45 minutes (3:15PM arrival, 5:00AM departure), is that enough time?

Wait, you're flying from Germany to the UK connecting in Chicago? Then why are you asking this on the forum for Washington-Dulles? Also 3:15 PM to 5 AM is over 13 hours.

My bad, I meant from FRA back to SFO via ORD. Is 1 hr 45 min connection time enough? I noticed that all international arrivals need to go through US customs first.

Yes, you will arrive in Terminal 5, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then take the ATS Train to Terminal 1, go through security and to your departure gate. You have just enough time if everything is on-time.

I am flying from SFO To London with connection through Dulles, both flight on United. The layover is 1 hour and 15 minutes (735AM arrival, 8:45AM departure), is that enough time?

That's plenty of time. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both on the C/D concourse.

We are due to arrive at 4:25 p usually at gate 32 and depart at 5:05 for Rome. Most intl departures are from terminal C. Will we have enough time for the connection. How long does it take to walk from D32 to C14?

That shouldn't take more than 10 minutes. You should have enough time as long as the arrival is on-time.

Hi we'll be flying on on Beussels Air with a 1 hour 20 min layover to catch a United flight to Denver. We won't have checked bags and have Global Entry. Will this be enough time to make our connection ?

With no checked bags and Global Entry you should be able to make it.
