Meeting granddaughter between flightsDec 14, 201110I am arriving on UA 7917 from Johannesburg on Dec 17 at 06:25 and transferring to UA 3733 at 08:31. My granddaughter will be joining me on UA 3733. My daughter will bring her to the airport and check her in but my daughter is not flying. How will I meet up with my three year old granddaughter between flights? Will my daughter be able to bring her into the departure section or will I have to exit while in transit and meet her at the check-in counter?Barbaraposted on Wed, Dec 14[ Reply ][ Like ]1. First of all, as an international arrival you need to go though passport control, pick up your bags, go through customs clearance and re-check-in your bag (make sure bags are properly tagged at Jo'burg.) Tehreater take the AeroTrain to the concourse of your connecting flight - United uses both A & C midfield concourses with corresponding gates (i.e., gate A15-32, C30-17 and C14-1) Look at your ticket to see which gate you depart from. 2. Your daughter needs to (a) contact the Airport for special permission to get her child to your departing gate - she should call the Airport at (703) 572 2700; (c) you need to give her the gate number you depart from ahead of time so she will b e able to hand over your grandchild. Good luck!HH39posted on Wed, Dec 14

Domestic to internationalNov 8, 201110I'm arriving at IAD via United to depart on an international flight to Tokyo United. Will 50 minutes be enough to transfer from one terminal to the international terminal?chblessposted on Mon, Nov 71. Presuming you arrive/depart from the C or D Gates: C gates C1-14 and D gates D1-32 are connected and have in the center a walkway. However, United is also in the A gates. (A shuttle takes you from near gate A6 to the D gates arriving there between D15-21 and D9-11.MUCposted on Tue, Nov 8

1 hour layover enough - Domestic to IntlJun 10, 201110I'm going to be flying from St. Louis to Dulles to Dubai. I'm scheduled to have a 58 minute layover at Dulles (IAD). Will this be enough time to change planes, assuming the first flight isn't delayed? The flight from St. Louis to IAD is a United Flight that's operated by United Express/Trans States Airlines and the second flight from IAD to Dubai is a United Flight. Thanks, MattMattposted on Fri, Jun 10First of all make sure that you have your checked baggage tagged as through/transfer bags, so that they will arrive in Dubai, where you can pick them up. Only A1-A6 gates and all D gates are presently not served by Aerotrain, so you are in luck. You have plenty of time to catch your connection by using the train which runs frequently & will only have one stop in between. Good luck!HH39posted on Fri, Jun 10
