Locations of Security Checkpoint(s)
HDN Airport has one security checkpoint located on the main level of the terminal building. Passengers are required to pass through security before accessing the boarding gates. The airport recommends arriving at least 90 minutes before the scheduled departure time to allow for enough time to pass through security.
Fast Track Lanes and Locations
The airport does not offer fast track lanes for passengers. However, the airport does offer TSA PreCheck, which allows eligible passengers to expedite the security screening process. TSA PreCheck is available at the airport's security checkpoint.
Passport & Immigration Control Locations
HDN does not have international flights, so there are no passport or immigration control locations at the airport. However, passengers traveling on domestic flights are still required to present a valid form of identification, such as a driver's license or passport, at the security checkpoint.
TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints
Yampa Valley Airport (HDN) has TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints available for passengers. TSA Pre Check allows eligible travelers to go through a faster and more convenient security screening process. To be eligible for TSA Pre Check, travelers must apply and be approved through the TSA Pre Check program. At Hayden Airport, TSA Pre Check is available at the main security checkpoint.
Global Entry Locations
HDN Airport (HDN) does not currently have a Global Entry Enrollment Center. However, there are several enrollment centers located within driving distance of the airport. These include the Denver Enrollment Center, located approximately 160 miles southeast of the airport, and the Salt Lake City Enrollment Center, located approximately 300 miles west of the airport. Global Entry allows expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers entering the United States. To apply for Global Entry, travelers must complete an online application and schedule an in-person interview at an enrollment center.
CLEAR Lane Locations

Airport Lounge Locations
The airport may be small, but it still offers a few options for travelers looking to relax before their flight. The only lounge available at this airport is the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel Lounge, which is located in the main terminal. This lounge is open to all passengers for a fee and offers complimentary snacks, beverages, and Wi-Fi.
While there are no airline-specific lounges at HDN, passengers flying with major airlines such as United and American can still enjoy the amenities of the Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel Lounge. It's worth noting that this lounge is only open during the winter season, from December through April, so be sure to check the hours of operation before your trip.
Baggage Claim Areas
Yampa Valley Airport has two baggage claim areas located on the lower level of the terminal. Baggage claim for flights arriving from Denver is located to the left of the escalator, while baggage claim for flights arriving from other destinations is located to the right. Baggage carts are available in both areas for your convenience.
Luggage Cart Availability
Luggage carts are available at Hayden Airport free of charge. They can be found in the baggage claim areas and throughout the terminal. If you need assistance with your luggage, airport staff are available to help you with your bags.
Luggage Storage Locations (Left Luggage)
HDN Airport does not have a left luggage service or luggage storage facilities. However, there are several hotels and resorts in the area that offer luggage storage for their guests.
