Zadar Airport ZAD serves the Croatian city of Zadar and is gateway to the 142 Kornati islands on the Dalmatian coast. Four national parks and three nature parks are in its close proximity. (Note Coatia is now an EU country.) Zadar Airport also handles general aviation at its G&B Aviation Terminal
ZAD Airport is located in the town of Zmunik Donji - 8 km from the city of Zadar - and accessible by motorway 502, connecting east to motorway A1/E65 & west/north to the Zagrebacka motorway 8, continuing west-north to Zadar.
With an estimated yearly passenger count of nearly 500,000 and two runways, Zadar Airport is base for Ryanair; and is served during the winter season mainly by Croatia Airlines to Pula & Zagreb, while during the summer season domestic & international airlines offer direct flights to European destinations, with connections around the world. Seasonal charters also serve the Airport.
The passenger terminal at Zadar Airport is spacious and modern. Check-in counters open an hour before domestic, and three hours before international departures; they close at different times prior to scheduled departure, depending on which airline or charter you take (Ryanair 40 minutes; Germanwings, Sky Europe & Intersky 30 minutes, all other international flights 20 minutes, Croatia Airlines 15 minutes). The terminal is divided between Arrivals (passport control, baggage carousels & Customs leading to the Arrivals Hall and access to ground transport) and Departures with check-in facilities, leading to security check and boarding area. The Duty-free ara is in the center.
Other amenities in the passenger terminal: Customs office, Visa office, cafe and restaurant, & duty-free and travel vale shops. The Lost & Found office at the information desks is also responsible for lost or damaged luggage. Rental car desks are in the arrivals area.
Parking is across from the passenger terminal. with taxi stands at west side and bus parking at east side.
