Hi there! I will be travelling from HK to Zurich via Cathay Pacific and arrive Zurich Airport at 06:30am. I will then need to take flight to Vienna via Swiss/Austria airline at 09:00am. Since it is by different airline reservations, may i know if it is enough time for me? Also, I'm worried about the luggage transfer? How is it be done on our case? Do I need to do all immigrations, collect luaggage and go back to immigrations to do the check-in again? Thanks!

  • 9 hour lay over Skydive in Interlaken?

Hi, I have a 9 hour layover from 8 am to 555 pm in Zurich. Can I go skydiving in Interlaken and make it back to my flight? I would be getting back to the airport around 4:30 pm to get back to my connecting flight from US to Asia flying Swiss Airlines. I have a US passport and the Swiss airlines representative told me I don't need to go through security coming back in to go to my connecting flight but that seems rather odd. Thanks!

My daughter is traveling from Toronto to Amman via Zurich and Vienna. She has 45 minutes layover in Zurich before departing to Vienna. Is this enough time. Her airline is Austrian, will she move to different terminal?

Zurich only has one Terminal, but she will have to clear Schengen passport control to access the gate for her flight to Vienna.

It is only a 1:30 hour layover in Vienna in her way to Amman why would she need a clearance?

Since Zurich to Vienna is essentially a domestic flight since it is all inside the Schengen Area, she will have to go through passport control before that flight.

My daughter has a Jordanian passport coming from Canada laying over 45 Min in Zurich then 1:30 in Austria then traveling to Amman. As a Jordanian that has a student permit in Canada, does she need an Airport Transit Visa (ATV) to layover in Zurich and Austria? Does the 45 min layover sufficient for a passport clearance? Appreciate an accurate reply as we might cancel the flight (which is nonrefundable based on your kind reply

Dear IFLY team as I haven't received a clear response nor could reach a clear answer from reading the published EU visa policy. Also your earlier responses were not helpful, I had to unfortunately cancel the flight

I am flying into Zurich on American Airlines from New York and will be arriving at 7:50, will then be departing ZRH on Austrian Airlines to Vienna at 10:25. These reservations aren't on the same ticket, will this be enough time for transit?

i am travelling via Zurich with Lufthansa airlines.. both flights... i have a layover of only 40mins.. is that enough? and do u think my checked in luggage will make it to the connecting flight too?

Where are you flying into Zurich from?

    malta - zurich - copenhagen

Then yes, that should be enough time as all flights are within the Schengen Area. Also, neither of those flights will be operated by Lufthansa.
