Crete Chania International Airport CHQ (also referred to as 'Souda Airport') serves the Greek island of Crete. It is one of two airports on Crete (the other being Heraklion Airport).
- The Airport is located on the Akrotiri Penisula, near Souda Bay, on Crete Island. In the summer season, and is open 24/7. The City of Chania is the Country's most beautiful city.
- New Concessionaire Fraport Greece (currently managing 14 Greek Airports), started to make much-needed upgrades to each of those airports, including Chania.
With a long runway and 3.0 million passengers in 2016, Chania International is served by Greek airlines offering daiy flights into Athens & Thessaloniki, and by a most of international charters during the tourist season (May-October).
Chania International has one passenger terminal which offers baggage carts, desk 22 for oversized baggage, Lost & Found, baggage wrapping, baggage storage; first aid (inquire at the Information counter); ATMs & currency echange, rental car counters (Avance, Avis, Sixt & Hertz) and free, unlimited WiFi access; restaurant, minimarket , two bars; baby care room, newsstand & souvenir shop, Travel Value & duty-free in departures lounge, The terminal also houses two lounges:
