Travelling AUS - ORD - ZUR on UA in August. AUS - ORD flight arrives 451 pm in T1 and the UA code share flight operated by SwissAir from ORD - ZUR departs 710 pm. 1) I does the code share flight leave from T5?, 2) Is best way to get to T5 the people mover landside OR walk to T3 and use the bus airside, 3) is this sufficient time to make this connection?
I'm flying domestic (UA) into ORD I have 1 hour 18 minutes from the time my flight hits the ground to get to my connecting international flight heading to Munich. Do I have enough time? Do I have to go through security check again?

on Sunday September 9th my family and I would like to fly from FRA to BZN via ORD (with United). We would arrive 10:30 am at ORD and the flight to BZN is at 12:15 pm. Do you think 1h 45 is enough time to go through US Immigration, claim our bags, go through US Customs etc.?
That's just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Thanks for your reply.
So you wouldn't recommend to do it? What would happen if we miss the connection flight? How high are chances that we would get another flight to BZN the same day?
It's possible. If you miss your connection you will either be rebooked on another nonstop to Bozeman if there is one that day or rebooked to Bozeman through Denver. I think your chances are good as traveling after Labor Day in the US flights to Bozeman should be less full.
Thank you very much for your help. :)
I'm flying from Indy to ORD, and then I have a 42 minute connection to make my flight to Dublin. I called United and I will have to switch from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 at ORD.

Does anyone know if this is enough time and if I will have to recheck my bag at ORD? After I booked, it alerted me that is was a risky connection so just trying to see if anyone has had a similar experience and the time it will take to get from 2 to 1. TIA!
Yes, that is enough time. You do not have to re-check your bag. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. It will only take 10-15 minutes.
Flying from Toronto to Quito connecting at ORD. Toronto to ORD is on United, arriving at Terminal 1. ORD to Quito is Copa, a star alliance partner, leaving from Terminal 5. What do I need to do for checked in luggage?
If everything is on the same reservation you don't need to do anything with your baggage since you pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do is take the ATS Train to Terminal 5 and go through security.
I am looking to book an American flight from Seattle WA June 16 scheduled to arrive ORD 8:46 PM. Connecting American flight to Dayton, OH scheduled to depart 9:40 PM. Is th 54 minutes a long enough layover time? I am older and do not walk fast.
Yes, that should be enough time.
Flying into ORD with AA, changing to YYZ on either AC or UA CodeShare (layover time is about the same) - will one hour connection time be sufficient? Is there an easy walk path between the two or do I need to take a train / shuttle bus? Will the return (from YYZ to ORD with AC and connecting to AA flight) require same amount of time?
Do you have checked bags or not? 1 hour is not enough time with checked bags. If you don't have checked bags and the AA flight is domestic, it is possible as you can walk from Terminal 3 where you arrive on AA and Terminal 1 or 2 where you will depart on AC or UA inside security.
I am planning a round trip that ;departure from YYZ by Air Canada to SFO and then to connecting flight ( layover 2hr 50m) by United Airline to HKG . The returning flight schedule is; arrive on an ANA flight from NRT( Japan) at ORD (arrival time 2.55pm) and then to depart on an United Airline flight for YYZ at 5:50pm. Will I have to walk from one terminal to another terminal for my baggage claims, go through customs, etc., before being able to check in for another connecting flight throughout this round trip schedule? Also will I have enough time ? Thank you ~~
You will arrive in Terminal 5, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then take the ATS Train to Terminal 1, go through security and to your departure gate. You have enough time.
thank you ZAP :)
I will be attending a meeting in March and staying at the Hyatt Regency Ohare. I am thinking about scheduling a United departing flight at 2:00 on a Thursday. I will have to make sure my meetings are done in time to get to the airport on time. How long should I allow to get to the airport and get through security at that time?
I would make sure you can leave the hotel by 12:15, 12:30 at the latest if you have Precheck.
I am due to fly from Manchester UK to ORD on Saturday 25th Aug on AA55. The flight time has just been changed so that I now arrive at 15:45. My connecting flight to SLC leaves at 17:10. Is this a realistic connection or do I need to call AA and ask them to change me to something more realistic?
Yes, that is now 5 minutes shorter than the minimum time. However, AA won't have any other options for you unless you want to add a second stop to your journey.
Thank you ZAP, most helpful :)
