P.S. We are checking luggage in Greece and the travel agent told us that he 100% ensured that our suitcases get collected by us in Toronto-final destination. But anywhere i looked on the net people say you have to claim it and recheck it at O'hare when you have a transit, no matter what airline no matter if it's prebooked as one ticket with airlines that cooperate. If it's an international flight you have to claim and recheck...wich means probably 2 hours are not enough..?..
Thank you very very much
Yes, your travel agent is completely wrong. You will have to claim your bags to go through US Customs in Chicago, then re-check them at the re-check desk. 2 hours still is doable.
Hello, my husband and i are flying from Greece to Toronto with corresponding flights in between, through Munich and Chicago. I am a Canadian citizen, my husbund is not. When in O'hare is 2 hours -time enough between our corresponding flights?? Which check points do we have to go through?? We arrive with United and we transit to Air Canada.. Thank you
You will arrive in Terminal 5, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then take the ATS Train to Terminal 2 and go through security. Your husband will need ESTA if he is a Greek citizen, if he is not he will need whatever other authorization his nationality needs to enter the US.
Is 1 1/2 hours enough to transfer from United Domestic to LOT Polish Airlines in Terminal 5? Thank you
Yes, that's just about enough time if both flights are on the same reservation and everything goes smoothly. You have to take the ATS Train from Terminal 1 or 2 to Terminal 5 and go through security.
Thanks. The flights are on the same reservation.
Landing 8:50PM on delta from cincinnati, departing to baltimore at 9:35pm on spirit. Concourse E-Concourse L. Do i have to go through security again? only carry on bags. woll lines be shorter later at night? i have TSA precheck if i need to go thru security
You can walk from E to L inside security if you already have your Spirit Boarding passes.
I m flying from Orlando MCO to Chicago with united airline , n connecting flight to Tokyo , only 1 hour 25 mins enough for me to go through imergration n custom check ?
There is no US Immigration or Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate, both in Terminal 1.
I am flying from LA to Germany with 1h 30min layover at ORD, is that enough?
Do I have to get out completely and go through all the security again?
If both flights are on the same reservation all you have to do in Chicago on your way to Germany is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate - unless you are flying Air Berlin. What airlines are you flying?
I am flying with United. Good to know there is no immigration, they are a pain for non-residents like me ...
We have 1 1/2 hours to make a connection from an American flight from Kansas City to a British Air flight to Heathrow. Generally the KC leg lands at G or K. I understand there is a transfer bus that connects the two terminals for several months during the year. Does anyone know where the transfer desk is. We will be making this flight on a Friday afternoon around 4 on the 1st of September. The past 3 dozen flights into O'Hare have resulted in being late because of gate unavailability and I am afraid we may miss our London flight if we need to go through security again. Flights changed since I booked (of course) and the connection time reduced.
The Bus leaves from the end of concourse K. It doesn't really save much time.
I am arriving in Chicago from Spain, en route to Arizona. I have 2 hours connection time between flights. Is that enough time to go through customs and catch my AZ flight? I am a U.S. citizen returning home. Will arrive Chicago at 6:30pm on a Monday. Traveling on AA on one ticket.
Yes, that should be enough time if everything goes smoothly.
AA to another AA flight I have a 45 min layover. Hopefully that's enough time to get to another gate within the same terminal 3. What if I land in 5 and take off from 3 (not sure why American would do that with this flight they offer) however, can anyone tell me walking times? - Is there trams or other things in between these terminals?
All AA Domestic and precleared flights arrive in Terminal 3, so if you are on one of those flights, you don't have to worry about arriving in T5.
Hi, we have a lay over of 1 hour 45minutes having arrived from London Heathrow then departing to Denver. We are UK citizens with checked luggage. Is this enough time please?
Kind of wondering the same.. flying from EU, arriving in terminal 5 with checked luggage and departing from terminal 3 with 1h50min to spare.

If you miss a connection due to immigration/customs delay, will the airline reroute or is that on the passenger?
That is just enough time if everything goes smoothly. If you miss your connection you are rebooked on the next available flight to your destination on that airline.
