We are flying from DEN to DFW then to PLS (Turks and Caicos). When we land in DFW from DEN, do we have to go get our checked bags then have them re-cleared/checked in DFW to go on to PLS? Same with coming back? Or do we check them once in DEN and pick them up at PLS and don't touch them until we arrive at PLS?
On the way to PLS all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate, nothing with your bags, on the way back to Denver, in DFW, you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and take the Skylink train to your departure gate.
''m flying AA all the way from PHX to KUL with connecting flights at DFW and HKG. At which airport(s) do I have to claim, recheck my bags and clear Customs before reaching KUL?
None, you won't see your bags until you get to Kuala Lumpur. There is no US Customs when leaving the US.
I am flying from Puerto Vallarta Mexico to dalas landing at night time leaving the next morning to go to New York do I have to take my bags or does it fly through
In DFW you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags and go through US Customs. You will likely then have to re-check your bags the next morning.
My son filed a delayed baggage claim, but was told they would send him the file reference # the next day. Why couldn't they give it to him right away? Now we need to wait a whole day before we can try tracking his bag!
My son flew from Dallas to Sydney on Tuesday. He and several others were told their luggage was not put on their flight due to headwinds. How do I know if it made it on the next outgoing flight? My travel agent said the next flight was sold out. Would his delayed luggage take priority over that plane's passengers?
Delayed baggage is unlikely to take precedence over passengers. They may send it on another airline or via one of their flights to Los Angeles.
Ive planned a massive trip around the world seeing the 7 wonders. all flights and hotels are book etc.

just received an email from American Airlines informing me of a change.
now in stead of having 2h43 wait for the last flight to CUN from MIA, i now only have 44 Min instead from when i land from ORD to DFW.

as being a new to American airlines, is this achievable? and if so is the baggage taken to the next flight for us?

Many Thanks

Sean S
On the way to CUN all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate if you are coming from another place in the US. 44 minutes is doable. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security.
oh great. thats eased the pressure abit.
thank you for the speedy reply
Flying AA Vancouver BC to Puebla Mex. do i need to pick up my bags in Dallas? Thank-you.
No, you will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Vancouver and there is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The Skylink train connects all gates inside security.
My son was told that his bags will be taken off the Qantas plane (Sydney to Dallas) and put on the American Airlines flight (Dalllas to Cancun) for him. Is that correct?? Is there no need for him to pick up his bags and check in for the Cancun flight? Does he just turn up to the departure gate?
He will go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security. He should ask a Qantas agent in DFW. AA has this procedure for AA to AA International to International connections, but I'm not sure if this is extended to Qantas to AA connections.
Thanks. I'll tell him what you said.
If I am flying from Florida to Dallas then Dallas to Tokyo and then Tokyo to what location will I need to get my bags ? Dallas or Tokyo ?
If all flights are on the same reservation you won't see your bags again until you get to Okinawa.
Will be traveling from St. Louis to Milan with a layover in at DFW. Layover is about 2 hours. Is that enough time to recheck baggage and make the flight to MIlan?
If both flights are on AA you don't have to claim or re-check your baggage. Also there are no nonstop flights from DFW to Milan. Where are you stopping first?
