Getting Around CID Airport

The layout of CID Airport is straightforward, consisting of a single terminal with 13 gates. The terminal has undergone renovations that simplified its structure by removing the older B concourse and expanding the remaining concourse. This change has made navigation inside the airport more straightforward for travelers.

When you're inside the airport, here are some tips to help you get around efficiently:

  • The gates are sequentially numbered from 1 to 9, which aids in quick orientation. Gates 1–3 are primarily used by Delta and Frontier airlines.
  • Signage is clear and visible throughout the terminal, guiding you to your desired gate, restrooms, and service areas.
  • For additional assistance, information desks are well-staffed and can provide guidance and airport maps.

The Eastern Iowa Airport has two security checkpoints located in the Main Terminal. The first checkpoint is located near the entrance to Concourse C, while the second checkpoint is located near the entrance to Concourse B. Both checkpoints are open from 4:00 am to 30 minutes prior to the last scheduled departure of the day. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes prior to their scheduled departure time to allow enough time for the security screening process.

Fast Track Lanes and Locations

The Eastern Iowa Airport does not currently offer Fast Track Lanes for expedited security screening. However, TSA PreCheck is available for eligible passengers. TSA PreCheck allows passengers to keep on their shoes, belts, and light jackets, and keep their laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. TSA PreCheck is available at both security checkpoints at the Eastern Iowa Airport.

Passport & Immigration Control Locations

The Eastern Iowa Airport does not have international flights, so there are no passport or immigration control locations within the airport. However, passengers traveling internationally will go through passport and immigration control at their port of entry into the United States.

TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints

The Eastern Iowa Airport has both TSA and TSA Pre Checkpoints for security screening. The TSA Pre Checkpoint is available for eligible passengers who have enrolled in the TSA PreCheck program. This program allows passengers to enjoy expedited screening, which means they can keep their shoes, belts, and light jackets on, and leave laptops and liquids in their carry-on bags. The TSA Checkpoint is available for all passengers, and both checkpoints are located in the main terminal.
