I am flying United from Washington Dulles to Frankfurt where I will take a connecting flight (Lufthansa) to Lisbon . Both flights were booked in one reservation. What must I do upon arrival at Frankfurt before boarding my flight to Lisbon? Do I (a) retrieve luggage, (b) go through passport control, (c) go through security again? Anything else? And has anybody used the gate to gate service? If so, what was the experience like? Thanks!
All you have to do in Frankfurt is go through Schengen Passport control and to your departure gate. Nothing with your luggage.
Arriving at Frankfurt from Portland OR , via Condor at 4:45 pm my next flight is operated by Croatia airlines leaves at 6 pm for Zagreb. Will I have enough time ?
If both flights are on the same reservation it is possible. It is not if it's two separate reservations and you have checked bags.
Thanks for the reply. We are traveling with 2 young kids. What happens in the event that travelers miss their connecting flight? Does the airline provide a hotel room, or are they responsible for that? Are they entitled to the next flight to the same city from that airline? Or do they have standby status? Our tickets were purchased through a travel agency.
I will be flying from jfk to Bangalore via Frankfurt and I have 2 small children. The stopover is 90 mins. Will that be enough time. I will have a car seat and stroller with me. Will I have to go through security again? Thank you
You will not have to go through security in Frankfurt on the way to Bangalore, just go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You should have enough time.
I've read many comments that this "should be fine" if all goes well...but those seem to be coming from the USA connecting to Europe destinations. What about the reverse? Coming in from Budapest - I'm assuming you are deplaning on the tarmac/apron, taking a bus to the terminal and then heading to the gate (no passport control when coming this direction, right? It's a choice of 1hr 10mi layover or 5hr25mi and getting up at 3am to head to the airport. Your thoughts?
The reverse is actually a bit easier usually since Schengen Exit Passport Control is a shorter process.
I am travelling from London Heathrow to Dresden via FRA airport. I have to change from gate area A to area B, thus I need to go through passport check. Do you think 50 minutes connection time is possible?
That's just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Could you please tell me if 75 minutes connection is sufficient to transfer from a Schengen flight to a non-Schengen EU flight and reverse in FRA. Both flights are operated by LH.

Yes, that should be enough time.
Arriving at Frankfurt from Brisbane ,via Singapore, flight SQ26 with 1h45 of transit before flight SQ2092 departure to Marseille. I travel on a EU passport, will that be enough time? Are this 2 flights in same terminal? Thank you.
Yes, both flights are in Terminal 1. The Flight to Marseille is operated by Lufthansa. All you have to do is go through passport control and to your departure gate.
Hello I am flying United Airlines from SFO to FRA and then FRA to ZAG, with only 1 hour layover. I will only have carry-on luggage. Will I have to go through security, passport control, and customs in FRA? Are all United flights in and out of same terminal? Is 1 hour enough time? Thank you!
You will just have to go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. Your flight to Zagreb will be operated by Lufthansa. you have enough time if everything goes smoothly. Everything is in Terminal 1.
Thanks! My itinerary says the flight to Zagreb is operated by Croatia Airlines. So no passport control necessary?
Correct, since you aren't entering the Schengen Area then there's no passport control.
I'm planning a trip from Brussels to Zagreb transferring in FRA. Will I have to cross passport control in Frankfurt when connecting both on the inbound and return flights ?
On the way to Zagreb you will go through Schengen exit passport control and on the way back you will go through Schengen entry passport control in Frankfurt.
Will a 75 minutes connection be sufficient ?
FY, all flights are operated by LH.
Arriving to Frankfurt from Dallas on American Airlines at 8:30am, then connecting Air France to Paris at 10:25am, both flights at Terminal 2, is this enough time to make the connection?
Without checked bags this is possible. With checked bags that will be very difficult if the flights are on two separate reservations.
