We arrive from Calgary at midnight, with the connecting flight leaving at around 8am. Is it worth leaving the airport to sleep in a comfortable bed at a hotel and maybe get 6 hours of sleep or should we just try and sleep at the airport to avoid customs in the morning?
There is no US Customs when leaving the US. So there's no way you'd have to go through customs in the morning. It's a judgement call regarding how easy you find it to sleep in odd places, how much sleep you actually think you'll get in a hotel, and how tolerant you are of being tired.
I am on AC7709 flight from Toronto to Houston with a connecting flight UA1035 to Quito. Do I need to re-check my luggage?
You do not have to re-check your baggage. You will pre-clear US Immigration and customs in Toronto. Just take the Skyway train from Terminal A where you arrive to Terminal E where you depart.
Hi! I have a flight in a little over a week from Mia to Austin connecting in Houston. Is 59min enough to safely connect?
Yes, that should be enough time if the flight from Miami is on-time. If it is late United has frequent flights from Houston to Austin.
We are flying from Managua to Vancouver with a 1 hr 35 min layover in Houston. All flights are with United. Will we need to pick up our checked luggage and re-check it? Will we need to clear customs? Will there be enough time?
That is just enough time. You will go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security, but since you are International to International all on United, you don't have to claim and re-check your bags. You can use the Onestop immigration lanes in Houston.
Hi there, my fiancé and I are going to Cancun for our honeymoon in June, with a layover in Houston on the way there and back (coming from Seattle). We are not concerned with the flight to Cancun, but coming home we are nervous about our short layover while going through customs and checking bags. We are flying on United Airlines, and our flight arrives at Houston at 4:15PM at terminal E. Our connecting flight then leaves at 5:35PM (also United) from Terminal C, giving us a 1 hr 20 min layover. Will this be enough time to pick up baggage, clear customs, and re-check bags? We booked through Expedia and I am worried it will be a hassle to change one flight..
Arriving from Chicago and 41 min to re connect to a flight to Panama. is that enough time to get on? what about luggage? Thanks
Yes, that's enough time if everything goes perfectly. It leaves no time to spare.
I have 1hour 8.min. layover. Do I have enough time - both United flights. 6073 from Canada and 6206 to Acapulco.
Yes, you will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do in Houston on your way to Acapulco is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.
Hi am flying in from Toronto Canada to Houston to catch a connector to Auckland NZ - is one hour and 16 min layover enough time? do I have to go through customs?
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Toronto. All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate in Houston. The Skyway train connects all gates inside security. You have enough time.
Is 41 min layover at IAH too short arriving from AMA and departing to ATL? With two checked bags.
That's just enough time if everything goes smoothly. If you have to change terminals the Skyway train connects all terminals inside security.
I am planning to take a flight from Tokyo to Houston (United Airline operated by Air Canada) with 1 hr 55 mins layover time to connect to a flight from Houston to Toronto (United Airline operated by Air Canada). Would that be enough time?
That is just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
