We have 1 hour and 15 minutes to make our connection to Calgary after arriving from Managua into Houston. Is that enough time to make the connection? We are changing from United to Air Canada.
No, that's not enough time. You need at least 90 minutes, with 2 hours preferable.
I am flying in to Houston with Air Canada, from Calgary then changing planes to Nicaragua with United. I was told I will be doing a secondary security and that 1 hour and 15 minutes is not enough. ( Of course I gave myself 3 hrs and the airlines just changed my itinerary to that..ugh)
There will be no secondary security. You pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate on the Skyway train. You have enough time if the flight from Calgary is on-time.
I am thinking of booking an Air New Zealand flight from Atlanta, but from ATL to Houston, it's a United flight. There is only a 1 hour layover between the Air New Zealand flight. Do I have to go to customs in Houston? Is that enough time?
There is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do in Houston on the way to New Zealand is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.
I (German national) am flying in from Calgary - landing time is 17:15. My connecting flight to Quito leaves at 18:15. Both flights are under United. Will I make that connection?
Yes. You pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Calgary so all you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Thanks! Really good to know
Hi

I'm traveling London to Mexico connecting in Houston, I want to know if I have to collect my documented bags go thru customs and the check them in again?

Thank you
You don't have to claim your bags if both flights are on United, but you do have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security.
Hi there, i’m flying from Orlando to Tokyo via Houston. I only have 1 hour connection timing in Houston. The flight is booked all the way under United. Will there be sufficient time and will I need to take my baggage at Houston?
All you have to do in Houston on your way to Tokyo is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.
Flying United from Vancouver January 17, depart 7:00, arrive Houston 1:25pm, then United flight to Panama, departing 2:25pm. Will there be enough time to make the connection?
Yes, that is enough time. Since you pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Vancouver all you have to do in Houston on your way to Panama is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Thanks for this reassuring response. We hope our flight from Vancouver is on time.
One more question/concern:will our luggage make it onto the flight to Panama? How efficient is the transfer in only an hour?
Hi, I am arriving from the UK on United Airlines flight from the UK connecting in Houston on a flight to Panama, also on United. have a 1hr15min connection time. Is this enough time to get through? Do I have to collect my luggage and recheck it? Do I need to through customs and/or immigration when I land in Houston?

Thanks.
You have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and security. You don't have to do anything with your bags. You have barely enough time if everything goes smoothly.
We are flying christmas day from chicago to liberia costa rica on Southwest with a connection time of 50 minutes in Houston. Do we have enough time between flights to make that connection and do we have to go through customs of some sort in Houston?
Your connection is at Houston Hobby airport, not Houston Bush Intercontinental. There is no US Customs when leaving the US. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.
Coming in from Panama and have a 10 hr layover - final desitnation is ORD. Am checking in to a hotel for the night. Since we will have to claim baggage returning from international travel, will there be an issue checking back in with security in the morning since we're gone overnight and will have left the airport?
Yes, that's fine. You in fact will have to take your bags to the hotel with you and are expected to re-check them in the morning.
thanks for the response!
