Hey everyone! I'm thinking about booking a flight from Roatan over IAH and my final destination being Frankfurt. However the layover at IAH is only 2hours and 20minutes and I worry if that is going to be enough since both are international flights (with luggage, security checks etc)? The flights are both by United. Does this sound reasonable or should I rather pick another one?
You will have to go through US Immigration, customs, and security, but not have to claim and re-check your bags. You should have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
Hi There, I am flying in from Dubai via Houston Bush then onto Austin. What is the recommended transit time to clear customs and get to the gate? Thanks, Bruce.
If it's two separate reservations you need at least 3 hours.
I'm returning from Panama connecting to a Memphis flight through Houston. Will 1 hour 30 minutes be a long enough time to get through Customs? The only option is a 6 hour layover.
That's barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.
I wish they had a 2 hour (or 2 1/2) layover instead. Not sure if I want to gamble on making the next flight.
Hi. I will be arriving from Santiago Chile and connecting to a domestic flight. I have 3 hours 40 minutes between flights. Will that be enough time to clear Customs and get from international terminal to domestic terminal?
Yes, that should be plenty of time.
My daughter is flying from Seattle to oensacola (via Houston) to see her boyfriend in the Navy. She has 45 min layover one way and one hour layover the other way. She had to change terminals. She is flying United. Does she have enough time?
Yes, that is enough time if the first flights are on-time. The Skyway train connects all terminals inside security.
I am flying from Fort lauderdale to houston and connecting to a flight to new zealand flight arrives at 8.45 pm and departs at 10.05 pm is this enough time to transfer
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do on your way to New Zealand is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
I will be travelling from Tucson to Houston Terminal B then Houston Terminal E to Monterrey Mexico with 47min lay over, would it be OK?
Yes, that is enough time if the first flight is on-time. The Skyway train connects all terminals inside security. Also be aware that many flights to Monterrey leave from Terminal B.
Hi. I will be arriving from New Zealand, landing at terminal D and my connection to Frankfurt also departs terminal D, all on Lufthansa. Will I have to claim my bags between flights?
I also have my eye on a restaurant in terminal E, is it easy to get between these terminals, ie no security barriers?
Your first flight will be on Air New Zealand. Yes, I believe you will have to claim your bags between flights. D and E are just two sides of the same building.
Thanks ZAP 😊
I will be flying from Newark to Ho chi minh, Vietnam with a 1 hr 5 m layover in Houston. Is this enough time?
Yes, all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate if both flights are on the same reservation.
I assume yes...I've been given a transfer time of 36 minutes. Arriving in IAH from MCI and then heading to Vancouver. Guessing both will be in Terminal C? (too early for Flight Aware to have gate/terminal info)
Yes, mainline flights to Canada usually leave from C.
Thanks. I had forgotten to mention they're both United flights.
