My son's KLM flight was delayed 30 minutes, now he has 1:59 minutes to gather bags, clear customs, get from Terminal D to Terminal A, check his bag with AA and catch his flight home. Any advice I can pass on to him when he lands?
Just hurry and hope everything goes smoothly when he lands. If he has to transfer bags to AA himself he will have to take the Subway, which is located in an underground corridor.
So now the inbound flight is 35 minutes late, squeezing transfer time to 1:54. Any secrets to expediting from terminal D, through customs, then to check in at Terminal A for 4:21PM departure?
Thank you! I didn't know about the subway. He is changing airlines and going through customs, so it will be all on him to hustle through quickly.
So, they didn't make the flight. Ticket counter said couldn't get bags checked in on time, so she put them on a later flight. . Then the original outbound flight was delayed. I called AA. Agent gave them seats and instructed me to tell them to get in boarding line. They rushed to the door, but the gate agent closed the door and said too late. Ugh! They caught next flight out, but the lesson is persistence. If the boys had stayed by the original gate and asked to fly stand by, they could have made it.
They also flew stand by on their last connecting flight home, so we are returning to airport today to retrieve baggage. It was worth it to get them home earlier.
I'm flying into houston from Heathrow with United and have 1hr 40 minutes before my next flight to Guatemala? Is this enough time? My luggage is small enough for carry on, so is this an option if it takes too long?
It's just enough time if everything goes perfectly.
I'm flying from Leon Mexico into Houston that lands at 8:50am with a connection to Chicago at 10:15am. Do I have enough time to collect and recheck my bags and still make my flight?
That's a pretty difficult connection but not impossible. If you miss your connection, United runs nearly hourly flights from Houston to Chicago.
I'm looking at United flights from Tulsa to IAH to Puerto Vallarta Mexico. At IAH I'd have an hour layover to get on my flight to Mexico, would that be enough time to make it work?
Yes, that is enough time. All you have to do in Houston is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. The skyway train connects all terminals inside security.
We are looking at a flight from Cincinnati to Houston to Belize. The connection in Houston is only 37min and we have to switch from terminal 3 to terminal E. Is this possible to make?
The terminal was written incorrectly. It is terminal B to terminal E for the above flight! Supposed to be doable but tight, just wanted feedback from a person who has experience if this would be possible. Thanks!
Houston Intercontinental does not have a "Terminal 3". I'm guessing that's your terminal in Cincinnati. If both flights are on United that's just enough time if everything goes perfectly. The Skyway train connects all terminals inside security.
I'm flying from Managua to Houston to Newark to Amsterdam today with united airlines today. I only have a 90 minute layover in Houston (and 70 in Newark), but in Houston I have to collect and re-check my luggage, says the flight attendant in Managua. Any advice how to make this in time? I am Not a US citizen by the way, I am from Holland. Thanks.
This will be a very difficult connection, just hope everything is on-time and move quickly and hope you can make it. Maybe if you miss your flight to Newark they can rebook you on the nonstop from Houston to Amsterdam.
I am arriving on Air Canada to Terminal A and departing on United Airlines from Terminal E to Managua, 2 1/2 hours later. Will this be enough time to get there? Will we have to re-check our baggage and go through security and customs?
You will pre-clear US Immigration and Customs in Canada. All you have to do if both flights are on the same reservation is take the Skyway train from A to E and walk to your departure gate. You have plenty of time.
We will be flying into Houston on United Terminal C then we must transfer to Terminal D for flights on Air New Zealand. Total time between flights is 80 minutes. Will we have to pick-up and recheck bags and is this enough time?
No, you don't have to do anything with your bags. Just walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate. You have enough time.
I arrive at Terminal A on Air Canada, and have 1 hour 45 minutes to catch a plane to Queretero, Mexico, United Airlines 6086. Is that enough time?
Yes, you will preclear US Immigration and Customs in Canada. All you have to do in Houston is take the Skyway train from Terminal A to your departure gate in Terminal B.
We are travelling with Air Canada from Toronto to Huston with exactly a one hour stop over, then going with American Airlines to Puerto Vallerta. Will this be enough time to get there? Will we have to re-check our baggage and go through security and customs again?
American AIrlines does not fly from Houston to Puerto Vallarta. Please double check your reservation. Are you flying United? Are both flights on the same reservation?
