I’m leaving from ORD connecting in Atlanta 1.5hr layover and heading to Madrid Spain. Do I have to go thru security again or does the train take me straight to the terminal.
You can take the Plane Train directly to your departure concourse. You don't have to go through security in Atlanta on the way to Spain.

I have a flight from Mexico City to New York with a connection of 1:30 in Atlanta. Will I have to pass security check again and will I be able to make it?
Yes, you have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. You have barely enough time if everything goes smoothly.
We are travelling with Delta from Costa Rica (San Jose) to New York, will 2 hrs be enough transfer time at ATL?
Yes, that is just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
I have purchased an international ticket on Delta leaving from Atlanta to Europe. I had planned to drive to Atlanta from Birmingham for the international flight because it was less expensive. Later i found a low cost round trip ticket from Birmingham to Atlanta and purchased the ticket. All flights will be on Delta but were not purchased together. Will I have to retrieve my luggage from the baggage claim area in Atlanta and go back through security or will Delta ticket my bag through to Europe. Any advice?
Call Delta and ask them to link the reservations together and carry a copy of the confirmation for your Europe flight. That should be able to get them to check your bag through to Europe in Birmingham.
We are flying Delta from Punta Cana to Atlanta and connecting Delta to Denver with a 1hr 45min layover. Is this enough time to get through customs and make our flight?
That should be just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
We fly into ATL traving to the Dominican Republic- we have a 1hr 30min lay over. Is that enough time to get through customs and recheck luggage??
If your first flight is domestic all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate. There is no US Customs when leaving the US.
Thank you!!
I am travelling this month flying in from London, UK, on Virgin to Atlanta then travelling onto Montego Bay on Delta.
I am travelling with a wheelchair user and 2 nervous passengers.
Is the distance from Virgin arrivals to Delta departures an easy crossover & also are we able to exit airport due to having 2 smokers within our party.
Thank you in advance
They will both be in the same area but you have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and Security first. There are smoking areas in Terminal E where you depart. Atlanta is one of the only US airports that still has indoor smoking areas.
Thank you very much for your quick reply
I am flying into Atlanta from Denver on a Delta flight, and then flying from Atlanta to Rome, Italy on a Delta international flight. Will a 46 minute layover be enough time to get from one gate to the other? Any other security requirements I should be aware of?
All you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate on the Plane Train. You do not have to go through security. You have enough time if the first flight is on-time.
I wonder if the connection between Flt 1501 (from Boston) and Flight 3443 to Freeport is too tight. It allows for only 46 mins connection. This is for Sunday (4/15). Thank you.
That's enough time if the first flight is on-time.
I would like to fly Delta from Cleveland to St. Thomas with a 45 minute connection in Atlanta. Is this enough time?
Yes, that is enough time if the first flight is on-time.
