We are flying into Atlanta on SW in the morning. We have 50 minutes before our departure to Cancun. We are a group of 4 with one with recent knee replacement. Concerned about distance between arrival gate and departure gate???
If both flights are on Southwest both gates will be fairly close to each other.
Hi there, our flight returning from Belize City allows us only 1 hour 37 minutes to get through customs, baggage, etc at ATL and onto our flight to LAX (we then go on to Sydney, Australia!) We arrive on a Wednesday around 5pm in the evening (I'd assume not a popular time for international flights?). Is this enough time?
That is barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.
We have never flown internationally. We will be flying from CAE (Columbia, SC) to ATL and then to PUJ (Punta Cana, Dominican Republic) and vice versa on our return. Can you please tell me how much time we should allow for arrival to both CAE and on our return to PUJ? Also, how will it work in ATL as far as customs and baggage, etc. for going and returning? Our layovers are 1.5 hours in ATL going and 2 hours coming back. Is that enough time to make connections? Thanks so very much!
On the way to Punta Cana an hour is sufficient. On the way back I'd want 2 hours. There is no US Customs when leaving the US. On the way back you will arrive in E or F, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, then re-check your bags at the re-check desk, go through security and take the Plane Train to your departure concourse.
Which terminals will we be arriving/departing in ATL? We have a 3 hour layover in ATL; is it worth purchasing the Skymiles Lounge for a family of three?
You will arrive in Concourse T, A, B, or D and depart from concourse E or F. The Plane Train connects all concourses inside security. Whether or not it's worth it to buy a day pass to the lounge is up to you, but 3 hours isn't too long.
I am flying Southwest to Atl, from the Dominican republic, with a connecting flight to Michigan. Will i have to collect my luggage in Atlanta, then go to Southwest ticket counter to check in for my domestic flight?
You will have to claim your bags in Atlanta to clear US Customs, but you should be able to re-check them right after you clear customs.
I have a very early flight to Canada in the morning. I am planning to check-in the large luggage, return the rental car, and then go through the security. Since the rental car place is at the domestic area, can I go through the domestic security and take the train to the terminal F? or I have to take the shuttle bus back to the security at international flight area?
Yes, you can go through security at the domestic checkpoint.
