Getting Around the Airport
The terminal structure at the John Wayne Airport has three main terminals, Terminal A, Terminal B, and Terminal C. All three terminals are adjacent to one another and housed under the same building. Overall the terminal has 06 commuter gates (Gates 1A, B, C, and 22A, B, C) and 20 commercial gates (Gates 2-21) that are accessible from all three airport terminals.
There are three levels of the Terminal structure at the SNA Airport:
The Lower Arrivals level houses the baggage claim carousels and baggage claim offices. Outside, there are two Pet Relief Area at either end of the Lower Level.
The Mezzanine level houses all Airline lounges.
The Upper Departures level houses the airline ticket counters and the security checkpoints which provide access to the Terminal A, B, and C gate areas.
Terminal A is served by American and Delta Airlines.
The lower level of this Terminal has 02 baggage claim carousels, Carousels 1 and 2, for Terminal A airlines between Columns 1-5. There is one baggage claim office at the far east of the lower level. Nearby this area, there is an Airport Operation/Security Office as well. The services and amenities on this level of Terminal A include an ATM, an Information Desk, Art Exhibition, Baggage carts, a Phone and TDD Phone, and a Restroom.
The upper level of this Terminal has ticketing/check-in counters for American, Delta, and WestJet.
You can find an ATM inside Terminal A near Gate 7. Other services and amenities are similar to the Lower Level.

Terminal B is served by Alaska and United Airlines.
The lower level of this Terminal has 02 baggage claim carousels, Carousels 3 and 4, for Terminal B airlines between Columns 6-10. There is one baggage claim office at the far east of the lower level. The services and amenities on this level of Terminal B include an ATM, an Information Desk, Art Exhibition, Baggage carts, a Phone and TDD Phone, and a Restroom. A Lost and Found office is also made available.
The upper level of this Terminal has ticketing/check-in counters for Alaska and United.
You can find an ATM inside Terminal A near Gate 10, Pet Relief Area, and a Mother’s Nursing Lounge between Gates 11 and 12.

Terminal C is served by Southwest and Frontier Airlines.
The lower level of this Terminal has 03 baggage claim carousels for Terminal C airlines, Carousels 5-8, between Columns 11-15. Terminal C lower level caters specifically to the International Arrivals with the baggage claim carousel 7 restricted to the baggage of international passengers only. Near the carousel towards the west, the services of US Customs and Border Protection and TSA Pre Application Check are available for all arriving passengers. Other services on this level are as follows: an Information Desk, Phones and TDD Phones, and Restrooms, Rental Car Counters, Restrooms, Art Exhibitions, Male and Female Restrooms, as well as a Gender Neutral Restroom, an ATM, and Elevators/Escalators.
The upper level of this Terminal has ticketing/check-in counters for Frontier and Southwest. You can find similar services on this level as on Lower Level.

Food, Shops & Amenities
There are many options for shopping and dining around SNA airport. Some notable shops and restaurants include ZOV’s (pre-security), California Pizza Kitchen (Gate 5), and CNN Newstand in Terminal A; La Tapenade (pre-security), Starbucks, and CNBC in Terminal B; and Belgium Beer Bar (Gate 15/16), Carl’s Jr. (Gate 16), and TravelMart in Terminal C.
The security checkpoints at the SNA airport are monitored by the Federal TSA - Transportation Security Administration. Only passengers possessing tickets are allowed to proceed beyond any of the security checkpoints. All security checkpoints provide access to the concourses and airplane gates.

There is an American Airlines and United Lounge at the SNA Airport. Both are temporarily closed until further notice.
International Arrivals & Transfers
Terminal 3 is the main concourse handling all international flights without any requirement of preclearance of customs. For more information about this Concourse, please scroll up.
- Get acquainted with the terminal structure before you even arrive
- Find your Gate well before boarding time
- Arrive 90 minutes before flight time in case of domestic flights, and two hours before flight time in case of international flights.
- When traveling with pets or other animals:
- Review the airline policies beforehand
- Use the pet relief areas if required. These are located inside Terminal B and outside Terminal A and C
- All pets are to remain inside the carries in the terminals, except for service animals
- Keep an itinerary at home for your family and friends to be able to reach you in case of any emergencies
- In case of lost items:
- Call your airline for lost items inside the aircraft, departure lounge, or at the ticket counters
- Call 816-243-1390 for lost items inside the rental car shuttle bus
