Jorge Chavez Airort:  Important Notices, Passenger Terminal layout, Flight Transfer, Vaccination & Immigration Procedures:

IMPORTANT NOTICES: 
  - Airport User Fees ("TUUA") may not be included in your flight ticket (estimated domestic flights $9.40; international flights about $30.74 (depending on currency exchange value). Pay at teller windows located on level 2 of the Terminal, across from the Mini Market. 
  - You need to have a yellow fever vaccination certificate to enter the country. If you have not been vaccinated in the last 10 years, you can get vaccinated at the ‘Sanidad Aerea’ in the domestic arrivals area.
  - A high volume of flights arrive weekend evenings - you can avoid standing in long waiting lines for international travelers, if you can book your flight arriving in Lima at different times.

The present passenger terminal complex at Jorge Chavez International Airport - divided into a Domestic and an International 'Terminal' - has been renovated /expanded -  the most recent work was completed in 2016, with a  passenger capacity reaching 30M a year.  Also the remodeled Duty-Free area  - managed by the Dufry Group - opened opened in August 2016 - with prices close to the Peruvian market.
At present, the terminal  houses  Gates 1-7 & 30-39 on the Arrivals level, and Gates 6, 9, and 12-26 on the Departures level. The shopping center is in the Grand Concourse, and a food court on the second floor. NOTE: Ongoing terminal expansion is to be completed by 2017.
Other amenities & services inside the terminal complex include banking & currency exchange (see below), tourist information, Serpost, post office, luggage storage and wrapping, cell phone rentals, 'movistar' telephone/ internet booths, travelers insurance & assistance, travel agency, as well as the Sanidad Aerea clinic.  - - For customer care call (511) 5173500.
- For PeruRail train tickets to Machu Picchu, Cusco & Puno go to domestic depatures (tel. 511-517-18884).
- The remodeled Duty-Free area offers an improved service with prices which now are comparative to the Peruvian market. Duty-free shops are available at level 1 after baggage clearance, and at level 2 in the boarding area close to the center gates.
- The 'Peru Plaza' shopping center is near the passenger terminal in the Grand Concourse and has received recent expansion; it offers brand-name merchandise.
- For fax, internet facilities, & phone booths - provided by Telefonica in the main hall - call (01) 484 4554.

    VIP Lounges at LIMA Airort are open 24/7. All lounges offer free WiFi service, a buffet bar and a business center.

   Banking/ Currency Exchange
 - ATM cash machines are available from BCP, BBVA Continental, Scotiabank & GlobalNet - accepting all cards.
 - Interbank (tel. 219-2000, ext. 614401), open 9am-9pm is located on level 1 at domestic baggage claim, and near at eastern entrance, and at level 2 near the gate area.
 - Interbank  currency exchange is open 24/7; tel. 219-2000 / 614512 - available at level 1, baggge claim and at level 2 near the gate area. 
 - World Xchange currency exchange service is available 24/7; tel. 517-1568; located at level 1, at eastern end.
    Immigration  & Customs procedure: 
 -
Passengers whose final destination is Peru must go to 'Immigration' and present their completed entry form or Andean Immigration Card, as well as passport or other valid document.  After immigration procedure check the overhead monitors for your flight number and pick up your bags. Thereafter proceed with  your bags to the customs area and present the completed customs form. 
 - New Customs Procedure:  After removal of red & green lights by Customs, there are now six new scanning machines after Customs for ALL baggage, one of which is used by the 'Preferred' line. You need to lift your bags from baggage carts onto rollers in front of the scanner & pysically push it onto the revolving band taking them through the scanner.  Presently, there is no attendant available to help if passenger has problems lifting.
 - For first aid or required shots, including for your pet, visit the Sanidad Aerea clinic in the domestic arrivals area.  

Transferring to another Flight: 
 -
Passengers in transit or with connections to other international flights must walk through the hall of International Arrivals, go down to the first level and, without entering the immigration control area, return to the international terminal (so as not to lose in-transit or connecting passenger status).,
 - International arrivals transferring to a domestic flight need to clear customs & immigration, collect bags and proceed to re-check-in their bags.
