I am arriving on Delta from DIA and will depart 4 hours later on Korean Air to Korea. Will I be able to check my bag through or do I need to claim my bags and then how do I get to the Intentional Terminal?
Is it two reservations or all one reservation? If it's just one reservation then you just have to go to the international terminal. You have plenty of time.
It is one reservation through Korean Air, but the carrier for the flight from DIA to LAX is Delta
Yes, then all you have to do is go to to the International Terminal, you don't have to do anything with your bags in LAX on the way to Korea.
Hi, I am arriving on Qatar Airways to LAX (Terminal 2) at 01:30pm and my onward travel is at 04:45pm on American Airlines (from Terminal 5) to San Jose. Do I need to go through customs/immigration, claim baggage and recheck-in with American Airlines ? Since the arrival and departure terminal is different, do I need to take a skylink train if any or is it walkable ?
Yes, you will go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk if they are tagged to SJC, otherwise take them to Terminal 4 or 6 (AA does not use Terminal 5), re-check them with AA, and go through security and to your departure gate. There is no train at LAX. it is best to walk.
Is there a recheck desk at our arrival Terminal (T2) ?
Hi, am arriving in TB at 0640 on SIA and depart for Montreal on AC at 0940. Do I have enough time to collect bags, clear customs and immigration and recheck in at T6 (from May think AC is moving to T6). Which is the fastest way to walk between terminals. Is there any special lane for seniors. Thank you.
Flying into LAX on Delta from MSP and need to connect to Singapore Airlines to Asia. Any tips? Is it a hassle getting to the international terminal? Do I need to go through security again?
Yes, you will have to claim your bags in Terminal 5 where you arrive, carry them to the international terminal, re-check them with Singapore, and go through security. It's not a far walk.
740pm Seattle Alaska Airlines to LAX @1020pm Then 155am LAX American Airlines to Hong Kong. Do I have to recheck my check in luggage and security TSA again in Terminal 3? Do I have enough time? Thanks
You will not use Terminal 3. You will arrive in Terminal 6 and depart from terminal 4. If both flights are on the same reservation then all you have to do is go from your arrival gate to your departure gate in LAX.
Returning on Fiji Airways to T4.
Fiji Airways does not use T4
Returning to LAX an Fiji Airways T2 at 1:25pm and need to clear customs and get to Southwest flight departing 2:30pm from T1. Any chance I could make that connection?
Fiji Airways arrives in the International Terminal. That is a completely impossible connection. You need to change your Southwest flight to give you at least 3 hours.
I am flying from Mazatlan to LAX on Alaskan Airlines arriving at LAX at 17:34 and departing to Calgary on United Airlines at 19:50 will I have enough time? Will I need to go through customs? I know I need to get our luggage and book in with United Airlines then pass through security. I'm hoping this will be enough time.
Yes, you will arrive in Terminal 6, go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags with Air Canada in Terminal 2 (United does not fly from LAX to Calgary, if you are flying nonstop to Calgary, you are on an Air Canada flight that leaves from Terminal 2) and go through security. You have barely enough time if everything goes perfectly.
Thanks for your reply. We've decided to take carry on only and hopefully we will have enough time.
I'm flying from SYD Australia and have a 3hr30min layover in LAX. Is this enough time to go through customs/immigrations and switch from international terminal to domestic terminal?? I'm very nervous. Never travelled international before.
What airlines are you flying? That should be enough time.
We arrive AA commuter terminal ABA-LAX, then depart LAX-AKL (assume T-4)... we have a 1+34 minutes between flights, is that too close for xfer? Next option is a 10 hour layover... thx
MEVJ, ABA is Abakan, Russia. Where are you coming from? That is enough time. The shuttle will take you right to T4.
I have booked a 1:55pm flight from LAX-AMS. I will be flying in from Oakland that morning on a different reservation. How much time do i need for my layover in LAX to ensure i make my international flight? no checked bags or kids.
I assume you are flying KLM to Amsterdam. What airline are you flying to LAX?
Hi Zap! Yes, KLM to AMS, likely Southwest to Lax.
I would want at least 2.5 hours.
