I am flying AA from Hong Kong to Minneapolis, layover 1hr 45 mins. I booked my ticket online through CheapOAir. Can i check in my luggage in HK and claim my luggage at Minneapolis, so I have enoughgh time for the transit in LAX?
In LAX you will have to go through US Immigration, claim your bags, go through US Customs, re-check your bags at the re-check desk, then go through security and to your departure gate. You have just enough time if everything goes smoothly.
The AA terminal (T4) is adjacent to the International Terminal. As you exit International Terminal, turn to your right and the next building will be T4. 1 hr 45 min is tight but you should make it.
Hi,

Is 1 hr 45 mins enough time for us to transit? Will be on AA from Hong Kong to LAX and transit to Minneapolis with AA as well. We plan to only take a carry on luggage.
That should be enough time
If I fly from chicago at 4.50pm and land in LA at 7.55pm will I have enough time to get an international flight to Sydney at 10.35pm?
Yes, that should be enough time, especially if both flights are on the same reservation.
Chicago to LA is with frontier airlines,and LA to Sydney is with Virgin Australia so they are not on same reservation. Do you still think we have enough time?
Then I think it will be very difficult as you will have to claim your bags, take them to Virgin Australia to re-check them, go through security and to your departure gate.
We are returning to th US from Tahiti on Air Tahiti Nui at 10:10 and taking a flight to Tokyo at 12:05
We both have global entry and only carry on luggage - Do you think 2 hours are enough? Do we have to go through security? TIA
Yes, you will have to go through US Immigration, Customs, and then go to your departure terminal (if not the International Terminal), then go through security. It's just enough time if everything goes perfectly.
Thanks for the quick reply!!! If JAL also operates out of TBI, do I need to go through security? Sorry if this is repeat,,,just going to avoid going thru the hassle
Yes, you still have to go through security.
I was just given an update on my terminal for our flight on American.
They said the terminal was now terminal 0 ? Anyone know where this is at LAX?
There is no Terminal 0. American uses Terminals 4 and 6.
Hi,

I bought AA tickets from Hong Kong to Minnesota, landing in LAX 4.30pm on Friday and leaving 6.15pm to Minneapolis. Is this enough time? If we missed the connecting flight, is AA going to compensate for the next flight to Minneapolis
Do I have to check out the luggage from LAX and checking to Minneapolis again if I bought AA tickets all the way?
We are arriving AA from phx at 21:40 and depart at 23:55 AA Internatioal. How far and long is our transit, do we have time?
Yes, that is enough time. You should just have to walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
All of American's departure gates are in Terminal 4. You just walk to your departure gate. No further security, immigration, or customs checks in LA.
Two of us will be flying from Santa Rosa to LAX via Alaska Airlines, arriving at 1:15pm. We will need to then go to Southwest Terminal to catch a flight at 3pm. Carry on baggage only. Is this enough time? Purchased as two separate tickets with each airline. Trip in March. Thanks!
It's enough time as long as the flight from Santa Rosa is on-time and you move quickly. You will have to go through security again in Terminal 1.
Thank you for your reply. I just posted an updated question as I have the airlines narrowed down. Just trying to figure out now which terminal increases by option for more time. Going from either T 4 or 6 to T 1? Thanks!
Alaska and American codeshare and some flights will appear to have an American flight number. But all Santa Rosa flights are Horizon/Alaska-operated and use Terminal 6.
Same flights: Delta Airline;
TSA Pre-check;
Only carry-on;
Arrival at 10:20pm at Terminal 5;
Departure at 11:50pm from Terminal 3.

Questions: 1) do we have enough time; 2) what's the process; and 3) which is quicker, taking free shuttle or walking; 3)

Delta does not use Terminal 3 at LAX. Where are you flying from and where are you going?
Delta's system is down. Maybe I was wrong about the terminal.
We fly from Seattle (SEA) to LAX; then from LAX to Cancun, Mexico. Thank you very much!
Then both flights will be in Terminal 5. All you have to do is walk from your arrival gate to your departure gate.
Hi! What terminal does on fly out on for Southwest International flights to Mexico? Is it 1 or 2? Thanks!!
They depart from Terminal 1. They arrive in Terminal 2.
Thank you very much!
